One of thousands of German commentaries blasting the US
americanbychoice2

Posted on 04/10/2004 3:36:58 PM PDT by americanbychoice2

This appeared in the Bild, a widely read German paper. Sorry about the new thread, I made the mistake to post it in German first. I will Translate this Garbage for you

Gerhard Schroeder has very seldom been on the stage because of his visionary prowess. He has also not shown many signs of principles. Therefore we will never know whether his decision to be against the war in Iraq was only Campaign rhetoric or basic principle. However, we know now, he was right. Whoever believed in the US propaganda in spite of the fact that there were no WMD's knows now: All was wrong!

Whoever criticised the warners who prophesized the second coming of Vietnam, as cowards is just wrong.

Since Schroeder did not send German troops into Iraq because of the supposed War on terror, he did our country a favor. However he may be losing those benefits because of the daily problems concerning Unemployment, poor economy and reforms.

The triumphant domestic policies of the UNION ( opposition) needs to be examined to see if their close alliance to the American President was right. Angela Merkel is undoubtedly happy that she is on Vacation and doesn't have to answer questions regarding her relations to the United States.

I don't want to invite any misunderstanding: It is important for Germany to be friends with Americans, but especially because of that it would be correct for us not to be friends with George W. Bush.

I read this kind of crap in every paper every day. The arrogance is maddening. It almost seems like they want to deflect attention away from their bankrupt domestic situation. That's one of many reasons I am an "Americanbychoice"

The germans are weak-kneed pacifists who no are longer worthy of any respect. They used to stand for something(as in when the Russians were menacing their borders) but don't anymore(since that threat is gone, so has their spine).

1. We don't need 'friends' like germany

2. Close the bases now

3. We elect our Presidents. You can't be for the American people and against our President. When will these losers ever get it?

Well, when WE start two world wars and gas 6,000,000 innocent civilians to death, then we might start to give a crap about what Germany has to say.

Message to Germany: "MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS YOU GENOCIDAL CREEPS!"

My German ancestors (2 different sets) left that country in the late 1800s. I'm constantly grateful.

The last "real" German leader (one who understands global events and strategic warfare) was Bismarck. The only people, other than the pacifist American press, who really care what the Germans think are the French (who are heartbroken at not having the opportunity to surrender in over 60 years). The more the left panders to the peacenik Europeans, the more I think its time to quit the UN, expel the UN and go back to just doing what is in the best interests of the United States. When will the world realize that the world's only superpower doesn't need the rest of the world's approval or support to do anything?

You should have seen what the krauts were saying about us in 1942. Even so we bailed them out after the war.

Too many Germans still have an undeniable affinity for their fellow Jew haters -- the desert branch of Sand Nazis..

When Germany builds government like they build cars, we will listen. Although overblown and gigantic, we don't yield to UN or (other) terrorist organizations.

Ausgespielt: Germany is played out. This is a sad thing for a once great country. Demographic projections indicate that by the end of the century Germany will have a population of only 35 million, smaller than her neighbor Poland. The Germans are no longer willing to fight and not even willing to reproduce themselves.

I have always maintained that the wirtschaftswunder was the worst thing that could have happened to Germany who had never had any experience in dealing with prosperity. " It didn't come with Instructions"
Also they allowed "La Dolce Vita" to take over They simply became too lazy to breed.

Damn, forget to mention the most
remarkable fact about this article:

"Bild" is a copy of the "SUN" and the most
read newspaper in Germany.
It stands for a 110% noncritical pro-american
position, as all Springer papers have...
"Friendship with the USA" is even a part
of their work contracts..

THIS change in their point of view, concerning their
ability to influence the opinion of the
broad masses, is a real landslip!

There`s more behind this than just a
simple commentary.

"The germans are weak-kneed pacifists who no are longer worthy of any respect."

Are you talking about the weak-kneed pacifist german troops
who are holding your positions in Afghanistan?

Or those Navy ships and troops at the Horn of Africa?

Or the Anti-Terror units in the mountains
of Afghanistan, chasing OBL?

Or the "Fuchs" Anti-BC units in Kuwait?

Or the troops guarding your empty bases
in Germany?

Or the usage of german airspace, harbors,
railways and the USAF and Army bases in
Germany, which is essential for supplying
the troops in Iraq?

Or the german AWACS crews who guarded your
airspace after 0911?

Thank you.
It seems we don`t need enemies, having
friends like you.

I appreciate your sentiments. I agree with your analysis of the Springer empire.
However, I have seen a gradual shift to left for over a year now. Lately a more subtle shift.
I go to Germany 4 times per year. The average German does have ab attitude of moral superiority and arrogance fueled by their media which is almost "Bible like".
Of course that's only my opinion, I could be wrong.

"1. We don't need 'friends' like germany"

Pls see my comment #15.

"2. Close the bases now"

After this change, it could happen
earlier than you might have imagined...

Ask yourself who needs these bases
more, the Germans or your forces.

"3. We elect our Presidents. You can't be for the American people and against our President. When will these losers ever get it?"

Most Euros have a different point of view
on your elections.
I don`t beg to burn this account, so pls
allow me not to comment your statement
any further.

Regards,
Hun

Hey - total sympathy from me!! I am also blasted daily by this kind of garbage . . .

I have yet to find ONE media outlet in Germany / Switzerland that portrays American in a favourable way (and I have been here for 16 years!!!)

some go out of thier way to be "not so critical" - but when even the most "conservative" outlets refer to American policy as "Imperialist", thier credibility drops to below zero.

Thank God for FR - without it, I would be lost.

You need us way more than we need you.Your leaders run for office on anti-America platforms and the only reason you guys maintain any kind of halfway cordial relations with us is because you don't want to lose the billions of American dollars poured into your economy by our military. If we pulled our bases out of Germany, your economy would implode.

Your country has repeatedly shown just how spineless it is, from your token force in Afghanistan who are not allowed to engage in combat,to it's anti-american reelection platforms by it's leaders, to the Bush-as-Hitler advertisements hanging in your streets.....Germans accusing others of being Hitler....that is a laugh from a culture that killed 6 million jews.

Go eat some schnitzel.
