SUGAR LAND, Texas., April 9 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) today questioned controversial statements made yesterday by former President Jimmy Carter about the war on terror.

"I'm just glad President Carter wasn't in charge after Valley Forge, Bull Run, or Pearl Harbor."

"Unfortunately, this is becoming a dangerous pattern," DeLay said. "Democrat leaders continue to undermine our troops and our coalition's ability to win the war and bring peace and stability to the Middle East."

"President Carter should understand that appeasement isn't an option, and the only 'peaceful settlement' to this war will be America's victory."

Carter was quoted this morning as saying, "President Bush's war was ill-advised and unnecessary and based on erroneous statements, and has turned out to be a tragedy," Carter said. "And my prayer has been that brave young American men and women, and others who are there, that their lives will be spared and there will be some peaceful resolution of the war."

Carter was a failure; a complete unadulterated failure. The worst President we have ever had. And the reason is that he has sh*t for brains.

Carter, Kennedy, Kerrey and Kerry are getting our boys KILLED. Every time they open their mouths, another enemy soldier finds a reason to hang on and fight. Every time a pompous Democrat asses intones his asinine opinion, another American Serviceman dies.

Hell, yes, I'm saying it - these Democrats are treasonous bastards. To call it "patriotism" is to desecrate the bodies of the Servicemen and women they have killed with their rhetoric. May these so-called "statesmen" rot in hell for making this war more bloody, more long, than it ever had to be...

Wow, the words of Jimmy Carter certainly put fear into the hearts of our enemies.

Oops, make that AID AND COMFORT TO THE ENEMY.

What part of "aid and comfort to the enemy" do Democrats/liberals not understand?

Actually, my fear is that they understand it very well -- as a tool to unseating a good
man (Dubya) and getting their appeasor/soldier-slanderer into office.

The Democrat party undermines our national defense as a matter of policy and politics.

Thank God for DeLay.

None of these other slugs in the Stupid Party seem to want to grab a Press microphone and speak up. They must be too busy getting manicured and coiffured.

The only way to make them shut up is to let them know that it will be an impediment to them regaining power.

Nothing else matters. Not the lives of the military (the root of all evil), nor the reputation of the United States.

If the idea is to get them to quit undermining the troops, we must make it clear that continuing to do so will keep them out of power.

Hello, glad someone woke up. Now if he'd yell it from the roof tops so others will wake up and put a stop to it.

Intent also.

Clinton did everything he could to screw up this country on purpose.

Carter just Mister Magooed his way towards the same results.

I not only undermines the troops, it prevents us from going after the people who are causing the terror in Iraq, namely the governments of Iran and Syria.
