http://www.amillionthanks.org Their site is promoting a million letters/cards to be sent to military during the month of May for National Military Appreciation Month. I've written 30 letters so far and sent them all in one oversized envelope. If you give your name and address on the letters, a soldier may write back to you.

Thanks for those links. I just submitted my info to soldiersangels... Looking forward to helping out our heroes. The last group I joined - I received two names, sent packages last summer and never heard anything so I was concerned if it was legitimate or not.

I found one..same squadron as my "Adopted Marine"..I think HMLA is Marine light attach helicopter squadron....

This Web site contains how-to instructions for putting together and sending care packages to troops, a ZIP code link for information about package restrictions to particular areas, and a suggested list of items for both male and female personnel.
There is also information for and about kids, and an "adopt-a-soldier" program. Operation Yellow Ribbon supplies information about and organization of counter-demonstrations planned for Armed Forces Day on May 17.
