Question for Freepers

Question for Freepers. The mantra of the Left right now is "Bush knew about 9/11 and did nothing about it". My question is, if for the sake of argument, we assume their premise to be true, why would Bush do nothing? If we are seriously supposed to believe Bush had actionable intelligence that the country was going to be attacked by Al Qaeda, why would he choose not to act? Are they suggesting he didn't act because he is incompetent, or for some other reason? And why would the average American (not the far Left loonies) think for one second that George W Bush would knowingly allow the country to be attacked and thousands of its citizens to be killed? I can understand the far Left peddling this crap, but everyone else? I just don't get it.

Stop worrying about it.
In fact, encourage the Left to make statements like that as often as they can.
The American people have a keen sense of crazy. Let the loony left bury themselves without our help.

Because the attacks increased the power and prestige of his administration?
Why would you put anything past a politician?

Some of them honestly believe he let it happen so he could "freely wage war". I've heard it before.

The standard leftist conspiracy take on this is that Bush either knew about 9/11 in advance, or actually planned it himself, in order to have an excuse to whip Americans into a war fever which would then empower him to invade Iraq and take its oil for Halliburton and his other Texas corporate cronies.
The really scary thing is that this toxic fantasy is widely believed in Europe and elsewhere abroad, and is fast becoming virtually the mainstream Democratic Party line.

"Bush knew about 9/11 and did nothing about it"So him and the neocons could take over the world. It needed to be done so they could oppress the children and mother Earth, and increase their take of obscenely high profits.

I wasn't aware this was the mantra of the left.
I thought it was the more thoughtful "Bush is a chimp."

Anybody with half a brain knows that he did NOT know, but the the leftists will use this and anything they can get their hands on or create to unseat GWB.
It has become a mantra and a duty to perform. As if their very lives depended on it.
What you are seeing is pure partisan politics at it's worst. And it is not going to get better.
It is going to get worse. (hold onto your mouse!)

Hey quite simply...WE ALL know the talk about "missing suitcase nukes"...ok, that sets up the THREAT, we also know that these Nukes are mostly likely NOT in the hands of Billy Graham or the Pope...so it is safe to say chances ARE that they are in the hands of "evil doers".
OK...moving right along and using DIM logic...
That means "someone somewhere has the intent to someday" use them...
Therefore IF they ever get used against us or a friend...we can ALL sit back with a sh&t eating grin on our faces and say..."I TOLD YOU SO!" and then demand an answer to the damn dumb questions they are asking now...
I certainly hope that when a nuke (g-d forbid) is ever used here that we get a notice in the mail stating the date, time and location of this event...seems that the DIMS don't like "surprise attacks", unless the are the ones doing them during election cycles...

I just tell leftists that I'm a proud member of the vast right wing conspiracy and that i was paid by the Bush administration to keep Eric Rudolph hidden in my basement till Bush stole the election.
They usually shut up and go away after that.

Well the fatal flaw with their arguement is that Bush is both 1) An idiot, and 2) A conspiratorial mastermind.
I wish people could see this obvious inconsistancy.
To: ejdrapes
Well, any lie will do when you (the Dems) don't have anything of substance to offer.
First, look at Kerry. He always says "I have a plan, uh, but George Bush is bad..." What is his plan for this or that? We never know, because he switches to Bush bashing. That would seem to indicate an empty plan, empty rhetoric.
Now, look at the other Dems. If they don't have an issue, any lie will do. Tell enough lies or tell one lie enough and some of it is bound to stick. It makes no difference how big or outrageous the lie is. If they tell it enough, some people will buy it, partially or completely.
How many out and out lies have the libs/Dems raised about the Bush administration? One, after another, after another. So what if one doesn't succeed, falls flat. There are more. Heck, if it would stick, they'd be telling the GW has a 3 headed solid green illegitimate half-Jupiterian child--and some people would believe it, and the media would push it.
The media is complicit in alot of what the Dems/libs get away with, too. So what if they get Jason Blair'ed or caught. They can claim unnamed sources or print a retraction on page Q-78.
The only thing more dangerous than an out and out lie is a half truth. A half truth is a lie or truth that has been twisted just enough to make your (the twister's) purpose. Under the Clinton admin, it was known as spin. And, if you have the media or other on-air voices covering for you, all the better.

When it's from the loony far-Left then thats a even better reason to fight back so as to expose who Bush's enemies are i.e. Workers World Party types, the "Che" Guevara T-shirt wearing types.
We have to understand we just can't sit back and think the average Joe Sixpack will never believe this left-wing crackpot spewings because lets face it the people are stupid as a pile of dirty socks and we have to answer back at everything.
To: Argus
More..
So GW could fuel an economic boom by ginning up production of the Mil.Ind.Com. and enrich the corporate global shadow government so that they could impoverish the working man, destroy the biosphere, put women back in the kitchen, plant and distribute tobacco, glorify white slave-owners, build condos on the National Seashore (right next to T Kennedy's) and put children to work in sweatshops.
Dig deeper, and there's space-aliens directing the entire thing from Area 51; but then they'd call you crazy. The truth will out!
