It would be quite easy to check the 1930 Census in that county and find the family. The 1930 Census was made public this year and is accessible (for a fee) on Ancestry.com.
I've been able to find my parents and grandparents in the 1930 Census. Such fun!

I've heard of mail that gets stuck behind a piece of office furniture or something, and is found and mailed years later. Pretty wild.

Done - the email has been sent, with (so - far) unconfirmed phone numbers and addresses!
