The fix is in! 9-11 Commission member Jamie Gorelick Auditioning for post in the Kerry Admin.

I just watched Chris Mathews' interview of 9-11 Commission member Jamie S. Gorelick. Gorelick was deputy attorney general of the United States, a position she assumed in March 1994. From May 1993 until she joined the Justice Department, Gorelick served as general counsel of the Department of Defense.

After Gorelick finished saying that the contents of the August 6th memo were sufficient that it should have triggerred the highest level of security in the US Government, Mathews said the following: "We'll be right back with 9-11 Commission member Jaime Gorelick, the former deputy attorney general of the United States. Maybe the next Attorney General." She sat there grinning.

Please note that I'm paraphrasing from memory. But it was very close to that. Unbelievable.

Hubris. Flushed with the prospect of power.

These people scare me. More than algore, Daley, Boise, Carol Roberts, and the FL Supreme Court.

"As a Reno staffer, Gorelick was central to the problem."

"Why wasn't she in the witness chair?"

I was just getting ready to make those very comments.

I've mentioned this before...and I'm going to do it again:)

I've never understood why Jamie Gorelick was on this commission, asking others questions, when she should be before it answering questions. This is a woman who wasn't just a Deputy AG under Clinton...she also served as a Gereral Counsel for the DOD under him as well. This is especially important since the Clinton administration put such a premuium on legaleze when it came to the terrorist threat. Excuse me, but who better to discuss these constrictive legalities with than Clinton's top lawyers...both at the DOJ and DOD.

If you recall, one of the reasons that the Clinton administration didn't go after the Muslims charities in this country was specifically because Clinton's DOJ was worred about public perception and claims of bigotry. As Dick Morris has even pointed out, Clinton & Co, were more concerned with a PC critieria, than a national security criteria. Who better to answer these concerns than one of Clinton's top Deputy AGs...Jamie Gorelick.

Her position as a General Counsel for the DOD is just as relevent. It was obvious that many military options had to go through legal channels before any action could be taken. Even after the bombings in Sudan and Afghanistan, it was Clinton's own lawyers (Gorelick?) who questioned the legallities of such actions. Far be it for me to defend Clinton...but just where was Clinton getting the ideas that he couldn't indict OBL with the Sudan offers...I've always heard you could indict a ham sandwich? When our Predator drones located OBL via live wire, was it again these same lawyers, ala Gorelick, who were making these decisions not to take OBL out? These are all questions that need to be asked and answered...and the fact that a key witness in this equation is on this commission is suspicious at best.

"Matthews has lost it."

Add Howard Fineman and Tim Russert to the list.

Fineman-Condi's performance today cost President Bush the election.

Russert, with his serious, furrowed brow face to Brokaw:

" The 9/11 families want SOMEONE held responsible for 9/11." ( Pssssttt- Osama bin Laden )

"Tom, they say had their loved ones known what was in the PDB memo from August, they might not have flown on 9/11."

The same sick script will be replayed tomorrow on the Today show.

Really. Par for the course, or should I say par for the "discourse".

Howie Fineman is a Matthews lackey and has an agenda. Russert is not the fair minded pundit he claims to be. Matthews worked for Jimmah Carter and Russert worked for Mario Cumo.

JFTR. The Aug.6, 2001 PDB, was a memo on historical background of Al Qaeda. It wasn't a threat warning or even a threat analysis.

The Librats are desperate and want to regain power, at any cost.

" Howie Fineman is a Matthews lackey "

A couple of years ago,I was channel surfing and came upon a C Span event, being televised from ,of all places, Margaret Carlson's kitchen.
The event was a party in honor of the publication of a book by Chris Matthews and the C Span cameras were in the kitchen .
It was fascinating and slightly voyeuristic at the same time, to watch Matthews, Carlson,
Fineman, Andrea Mitchell,
Ben Bradlee and other DC media regulars interacting.
Obviously they were all long time friends and completely comfortable in each others presence.
This was obviously not the first time they had broken bread.
At some point, someone in the kitchen had forgotten about the C Span camera and started the obligatory Bush bashing. As I recall, it was Howard Fineman who shushed them and reminded them that there was a camera present.
They are all buds and social friends, in addition to liberal Democrat shills.

R u kidding? I've got to believe, if we are going to be around for another 200 years that Matthews giddy hopes that Gorelick and Ben Veniste and Iraq will oust Bush will be rejected by the American people. This is really getting very distasteful. This isn't what America is about. I hate Baby Boomer Leftists.
