Hostages' passports/pictures shown on al-Jazeera. Insurrectionists threatening to kill them unless Japan removes its troops. Hostages include men and women (exact numbers not identified). {FoxNews)

Now they're saying to Japan get out in 3 days or we will kill them.
Interesting, lets see if the samuri spirit still lives on.

I think I would ask the Japanese soldiers if they would like to come out and play. If they did things would get brutal.

Two of the hostages, one male and one female were humanitarian aid workers. Interviews of them before their capture are being shown on NHK now.

Its time for the Arabs to take sides. I say give them 24 hours to state where their loyalty lies; with civilized society or in a backward region, still mired in medieval brutality. And I mean ALL ARABS!! At the same time, start dusting off the Minutemen. Prayers for the Japanese. I hope their captors die horribly and they are rescued unharmed..

I'm in Japan, watching this story now on NHK. This will be a HUGE story in Japan; it's probably hard for most Americans to understand how huge this story is here. Japanese have no experience with war or with being targeted by a foreign terrorist group (other than North Korea) since 1945.
It will be interesting to see how Japan copes with this, and how the public treats the Koizumi administration.

I think we can thank Spain for getting the ball rolling. They were so compliant about removing troops to appease the terrorists that we can expect to see more of this. I feel sick for the hostages as they are in the hands of monstors without a conscience.

""Two Iraqi groups seize 10 hostages from South Korea and Japan. Insurgents capture 7 South Koreans, shortly after unknown Soraya al Mujeheddin threatens to kill 3 Japanese hostages unless Japan evacuates its force from Iraq within three days. Arabic Al Jazeera TV airs tape of three Japanese men, one woman, in civilian garb.""

As an aside, I propose levelling Al Jazeera. If that station weren't available to play all these hostage tapes, there would be little effectiveness in taking hostages.

Just saw the Al Jazeera video. Damn.
And now FNC is saying that seven members of a South Korean church group have been abducted as well.
This is getting out of hand.

Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...

Huge is right. I can't imagine what the reaction is going to be. Koizumi can't back down.
