John Thomas Wrobleski, Lieutenant U.S.M.C
His mother | 8 April 2004 | Joe Boucher

Posted on 04/08/2004 3:12:01 AM PDT by Joe Boucher

Last night due to severe wounds from battling in the Sunni Triangle on 6 Apr 2004 my nephew and personal hero John Thomas Wrobleski succumed to his injuries.

J.T. was a lieutenant in the U.S.M.C. He joined the marines 2 days after 9-11. He was born and lived in the north of New Jersey and joined after having many friends in the twin towers perish. 7 months ago he was married to a most wonderful girl who is now a widdow. He leaves 3 brothers a mom and dad and about 50 other family members and hundreds of friends. When he returns we as a family will come together to celebrate this American heros life. Thank you all for your many prayers and may GOD protect our brave American troops wherever they are.

I've also just lost a pal myself. Those who'd been in the military with him and a very few journalist pals could get away with calling him *sandbag* to his face after a North Vietnamese machinegunner at the Ia Drang fight in 1965 dragged his body among others as cover for the light machinegun he was using. He was then badly shot up by Americans trying to silence the gun, unavoidable under the circumstances.

He got into some other dicey situations along the way, but had 39 more years of other things to accomplish before finally leaving us behind. I can't help but think that he and John Thomas Wrobleski are now enjoying each others company, and I hope we'll see them again.

My sympathy and gratitude for your nephew's service.
Words fail me.
Prayer doesn't.

You're nephew was willing to do what so many of our service men are... To stand in the gap to defend not only his own family's way of life but also his neighbors and countrymen. What an honor to live in the same country as hero's like your nephew! My prayers are with your family during this time of remembrance.

The Marine's Prayer:

Almighty Father, whose command is over all and whose love never fails, make me aware of Thy presence and obedient to Thy will. Keep me true to my best self, guarding me against dishonesty in purpose and deed and helping me to live so that I can face my fellow Marines, my loved ones, and Thee without shame or fear. Protect my family.

Give me the will to do the work of a Marine and to accept my share of responsibilities with vigor and enthusiasm. Grant me the courage to be proficient in my daily performance. Keep me loyal and faithful to my superiors and to the duties my Country and the Marine Corps have entrusted to me. Help me to wear my uniform with dignity, and let it remind me daily of the traditions which I must uphold.

If I am inclined to doubt, steady my faith; if I am tempted, make me strong to resist; if I should miss the mark, give me courage to try again.

Guide me with the light of truth and grant me wisdom by which I may understand the answer to my prayer.

Semper Fi, Lt Wrobleski
Rest In Peace

Prayers from my family to yours. My faith says he is more alive than ever - just not here. As pointed out he has lots of new marine buddies and family members that passed before him.
May the good Lord grant your family peace during this difficult time.
God Bless,
MC

I'm very sorry to learn of your loss. I hope you will find comfort in Scripture & prayer.

Prayers have been sent.

PSALM 23
The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

May your family find comfort in knowing that there are thousands millions of us that are prayerful and grateful for Lieutenant Wrobleski. His service to all of us should never be forgotten, and the loss felt by his family should be tempered by the pride felt for him.

May God now bless and keep Lieutenant Wrobleski and his family, as it is sure that we all have been blessed by Lieutenant Wrobleski.

INCLINE Thine ear, O Lord, unto our prayers, wherein we humbly pray Thee to show Thy mercy upon the soul of Thy servant John Thomas, whom Thou hast commanded to pass out of this world, that Thou wouldst place him in the region of peace and light, and bid him be a partaker with Thy Saints. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

I am deeply grateful as an American that heros such as your nephew give the ultimate sacrifice so that my family may continue to live in the most wonderful nation ever to be on this earth. May God keep your nephew in his arms and comfort you and your family during this time of sadness. I know there's nothing I can say to take away your pain, but please know that this family will pray for you and continue our support for all of our American Heros.
