It is obvious that Ted Kennedy committed murder that night. Had he immediately reported the accident that night, it is almost a certainty that Mary Jo could have been rescued in time. But Teddy was more concerned about his political viability than to save "some dying girl" (as he would have callously put it).

That fact that he left her there to drown while he went for a good night sleep so he could sober up and call his lawyer in the morning constitutes nothing less than cold-blooded murder in my opinion. What a repulsive man. Murderer.

It's sickening and makes me wonder about this country sometimes . . . That justice couldn't be done in such a straightforward case . . . That bootlegger riches could thwart it . . . That a pig like Ted Kennedy -- who btw comes from a whole family of gangsters -- could rise to such a position power and influence after it was known what transpired that night . . . Sickening . . . Because of what it implies. :-(

Agree 100% with you. I should add that the miscarriage of justice in this case was mostly made possible by the Kennedy worshippers, who were apparently willing to even let a cut-and-dry homicide like this slide in order to keep the mystique of "Camelot" alive. These celebrity-worshipping dolts who keep sending this scumbag back to the senate every six years just so they can keep reading about the Kennedy family in the supermarket tabloids sicken me. Mostly women, I hate to say. I deal with them here (in Massachusetts) all the time. There are a bunch of old ladies around here who think the Kennedys are "marvelous and so charismatic". For all these years, they ate that tabloid stuff up about Jackie O and JFK Jr., etc., and kept the "Camelot" thing alive. Shallow twats. Sometimes I think the nineteenth Amendment was one of the worst things to happen in this country. But to be fair, maybe we ought to have an intelligence test to vote so that the stupid men are filtered out too. At least have a rule that you must be a taxpayer to vote. That will filter out most of the bon-bon eating, Oprah-watching crowd who don't have a clue.

That is so true...and sad. What galls me the most is for reasons unknown to me, the fat slob Teddy is considered some kind of "Public Servant". He has been sucking on the public teat now for his entire adult life...what the heck is it with people in Mass. who keep voting this illiterate slob to the senate every 6-years...are there that many mouth-breathers in Massachusetts???

Kerry's problem isn't "haggard," the Botox counterexample notwithstanding. "Haggard" is electable. (See LBJ.)

Kerry's dissonant new "do," like the mortician's careful coif, only enhanced the funereal gloom. (One has to wonder if Shrum was brought in (dispatched?) to praise Kerry... or to bury him....)

If we are to prevail, the rules of engagement--on both fronts--must change.

Marquis of Queensberry niceties, multicultural hypersensitivity, unipolar-power guilt, hegemony aversion (which is self-sabotage in the extreme--we must capture what we conquer--oil is the terrorist's lifeblood)... and, most important, the mutual-protection racket in Washington--pre-9/11 anachronisms all--are luxuries we can no longer afford.

Notwithstanding, the underlying premise of our hyperfastidious polity, (that we must remain in the system to save the system) is fallacious at best and tantamount to Lady Liberty lifting herself up by her own bootstraps.

To borrow from the Bard, let's start metaphorically, or better yet, economically, by killing all the seditious solicitors, which include the clintons and their left-wing agitprop-and-money-laundering machine: the Viacom-Simon & Schuster-60-Minutes vertical operation, the horizontal (as in "soporific") Cronkite-ite news readers, the (hardly upright) Ben-Veniste goons and Gorelick sleepers, and, of course, the clueless, cacophonic, disproportionately loud, left-coast Barbra-Streisand contingent.

America must not pull her punches.

To prevail, America must defeat--thoroughly destroy--her enemies. On both fronts.
