Why is the guy who held the dog not being charged also? He is just as guilty and depraved.
To: Robert_Paulson2
I suggested that the story is NOT always true when an owner defends their pet. let the back-peddling begin
To: Robert_Paulson2
I have no doubt there is more to this story than the OWNER'S "my dog was an angel" routine. More than "three thugs hold down a two pound dog and kick it to death"?
"Yea, your honor, the little mutt was askin' fer it."

After Gizmo's death, Lewis said, he chased the three men until he caught Crawford, and made him pick up Gizmo's body and take it upstairs to McKenzie. He later held Crawford until police showed up. I find the above version a tad difficult to believe.
One average sized, average looking guy chases down three guys? Well, I know the adrenalin would have been flowing, but still.

"First, anybody who does that to such a helpless creature is beneath contempt. I am glad that I didn't witness it, because I'd be dead or in jail tonight" Anybody who would do such a horrible thing to a helpless animal....and laugh about it...is just a step away from doiog something as bad, or worse, to a human being, probably a child. There are no words for such a barbaric b*st*rd.

Sorry to see you so grumpy, Robert: none of your comments are relevant to the post; the only commonality is the word "dog" in both.
And if they attack a human... off leash, they should be put down and the owner held accountable for assault.
I agree with you: children nowadays just don't know how to behave. They attack humand without a provocation.

I'm outraged and deeply disturbed. Honestly, if someone did the same to this monster, Mr. Crawford, then I wouldn't not shed a tear. Animal cruelty is disgusting. Repulsive. I'm speechless.

"This is heart-breaking. I've seen horrific things but not like this. I cannot imagine where someone's mind would be who would do something like this." In related news, the National Organization for Women announced the renewal of their "Choice on Earth" campaign and praised their ally, Planned Parenthood, for having kept abortion safe and legal during 2003.

Oh, freaking get over it.
This little dog was horribly brutalized and all you can do is spout off some crap about leash laws.
It wasn't the dog's fault.

If these jerkoffs are guilty, each should have to go 1 on 3(same odds as the dogs had) against pitbulls.

Letting pets, especially dogs, run loose is highly irresponsible.I'm sure that made it less painful for the poor dog as it died a painful death.
There is no telling when a person, carrying a handgun, might react to a dog's challenge, say with a child, or even a bite on the shoe.
C'mon, we're talking about a 2 pound dog. I can't imagine even the biggest wuss in the world being afraid of a dog that small.

If innocent little dogs are constantly biting you, my guess is that you're not a nice person. In fact, I'm tempted to sic my flying squirrel on you.
