I can't wait for Rice to testify... :) :) :) :) :)

Uh, but this report...

"We are blessed to be citizens of a country enjoying record prosperity with no deep divisions at home, no overriding external threats abroad, and history's most powerful military ready to defend our interests around the world."

No overriding external threats abroad? UH, WTF??????????????????????????????

I think Condi will do very well in refuting Clarke's mis-statements. I truly hope Clarke can be charged with perjury concerning his erroneous under-oath testimony. Making a buck off of hating Bush hit a new low with Clarke...

The Clinton administration's final document was 45,000 words long and titled "A National Security Strategy for a Global Age," but it hardly mentioned bin Laden and his terrorist network.

Mr. Clinton wrote in the preface, "We are blessed to be citizens of a country enjoying record prosperity with no deep divisions at home, no overriding external threats abroad, and history's most powerful military ready to defend our interests around the world."

Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my infrequent ‘miscellaneous’ ping list.

Former Rep. Lee Hamilton, an Indiana Democrat and a member of the September 11 commission, said he "probably saw that document" and others like it before he resigned from Congress in 1999, "but I don't have any recollection of it, to be blunt."

Since this report was published in December 2000, I wouldn't expect a Congressman who left office in 1999 to have had it come across his desk. Maybe he should have done a little homework before 'rushing to judgement' about the report in question.

The commission is actually doing FACT-CHECKING now?

John Kerry is deeply troubled.

"That's one of hundreds of documents that a president issues, [but] I don't draw any conclusions from that . . . ".

Yo, Lee! What part of no overriding external threats was not a conclusion in the preface to the Klintoon/Klarke report?

Mr. Black said he expects Miss Rice to "put to rest Mr. Clarke's charges. His credibility is pretty much shot," Mr. Black said. "I'm sure Dr. Rice will finish off what is left of it when she testifies."

All that's needed to "finish off" Clarke's credibility is his own words.
However, it will be interesting to see how Condi spits in his face, and it will be funny to watch partisan scumbags like Kerrey, Ben-Veniste, and Gorelick try to prop Clarke up and defend him.

The Clinton document consistently characterized terrorist attacks against Americans and U.S. interests as "crimes" and outlined how it was using diplomatic and economic pressure to bring the "perpetrators to justice."

That was working so well I just don't understand why we abandoned it as national policy.

Signed,
John Kerry
Senator from the State of Instability

We did help the radical Muslims ethnically-cleanse the Serbs in Kosovo.

That's something.

Am I getting this wrong?

Living History said this was a good thing. How could it not be?

I hope she burns his sanctimonious a$$ to the ground, salts that ground and has a thousand soldiers march across it!
Richard Clark is the epitome of a useless bureaucrat!

"His credibility is pretty much shot," and so is the credibility of this "The Commission".

This "The Commission" is not about seeking "truth" else they would not have put on a "show" with one making $$$$$ off 9/11.

There are many on this "The Commission" that were in elective office pre- 9/11 and they did not sound alarms, they did nothing, but support a pervert in-chief.

Mr. Clinton wrote in the preface, "We are blessed to be citizens of a country enjoying record prosperity with no deep divisions at home, no overriding external threats abroad, and history's most powerful military ready to defend our interests around the world."

Mr. Clarke has testified to the commission — and has written in his best-selling book — that as the top terrorism analyst for Mr. Bush and Mr. Clinton, he repeatedly warned that al Qaeda posed a significant and dangerous threat to the United States and urged strong military action.

.........

"His credibility is pretty much shot," Mr. Black said. "I'm sure Dr. Rice will finish off what is left of it when she testifies."

Mr. Clinton wrote in the preface, "We are blessed to be citizens of a country enjoying record prosperity with no deep divisions at home, no overriding external threats abroad, and history's most powerful military ready to defend our interests around the world."......

Charlie Black, an informal adviser to the Bush-Cheney re-election campaign, said Mr. Clinton's final congressional terror report shows that his national-security team "really had weak responses and no sustained effort" against al Qaeda and global terrorism......

"His credibility is pretty much shot," Mr. Black said. "I'm sure Dr. Rice will finish off what is left of it when she testifies."

Just in case you haven't read this thread, this should get real interesting after Dr. Rice testifies.
