Kerry, McCain and Hagel are all vets (as I am). A lot of what they say is BS because they are politicians. But I sure do respect their opinions more than people who never served. And there are a LOT of those out there on both sides. I was in during the time Kerry was testifying about how all U.S. military were war criminals. That's ME he was talking about, and I am STILL PO'd about it. No way do I respect ANYTHING Kerry has to say.
McCain has nothing but good things to say about Kerry, including the criminal charges Kerry leveled against the U.S. military.
I take what Kerry has done personally. I take McCain's defense of Kerry personally. Kerry is a traitor. McCain is defending a traitor, and that makes McCain a traitor too.

I have not read this entire thread, but hopefully no one on FR has slandered Canadian soldiers.
If you feel they did, it was probably in the context of our overall disgust with the Canadian government, and your nation's refusal to stand by us when it counts. We thought Canada was our friend, and it hurts to find out differently.
The problem is a lot bigger than just your current government. Many Canadians hate the U.S., and we in the U.S. are very aware of it. Booing American kids at hockey games, etc., is a good way to make sure America knows just where the people of Canada stand. You won't find that kind of behavior against Canadians when they visit the U.S.

Booing American kids at hockey games, etc., is a good way to make sure America knows just where the people of Canada stand. You won't find that kind of behavior against Canadians when they visit the U.S. I remember that incident happened in Quebec and it was very disgusting. I, for one, was very embarrassed over those few who took part in it all and I wish I could apologize to all of those kids and their parents for that incidient. If memory serves, many millions of Canadians felt the same way I did. I was also very upset that we did not "officially join" (note we were there but unofficially of course) the fray in Iraq. We have lost a few soliders in this global war on terrorism but no where near what the brave soldiers of the US have given up in that war and the subsequent clean up.
At least with the new federal government, we have donated many millions to Iraq and support the USA and Britain. I know we have many troops tied up in Halfganistan as well as now Haiti to help the Americans and I do know our some of our police service is training the Iraqis.
Look I got cousins and Aunts and Uncles all over the USA. I enjoy my visits to the USA all the time and for the most part I have had an enjoyable time.
I hope relations between the two governments get much better. I for one know how lucky we are as a country to have the USA as a neighbour and the freedom it brings. There are many in this country who think the way I do. But you have to remember, we have certain segments of the country, just like your country, who have these (false) "opinions" about things and yes, like you, I would like it to stop.
Take care and hoping for a Bush43 win in November,
hawk
