So we are fighting the Sunni's and the Shiite's now.
This idea of creating a Muslim democracy in Iraq (or anywhere for that matter) sure isn't turning out too well.
I'd give this thing a few more months before it becomes obvious to everyone that no Islamic democracy is going to happen in Iraq.
We should have invaded Iraq for firing on our planes and violating the ceasefire resolutions, killed off Saddam's government and cronies, grabbed up whatever WMD's or WMD programs that existed, annhilated whatever foreign terrorists we could find and then..........gotten the hell out of there while we were still considered liberators and conquering hero's by the people.
Now a large minority of them hate us, and the majority are flat indifferent. Face it, Iraqis do not have the will to fight for the democracy we are promising them. Lets set our sights lower and get our troops out of these Iraqi hellholes...I mean cities as soon as possible.

He turned the whole terrorist city into a parking lot; literally flattened it and paved it over. Not a bad idea. Not exactly. His advisors wanted to "pave it over" to hide the evidence. Assad left Hama as it was, as a warning.

It will not be a civil war... this is coming from Iran. If we need to go in and kick that whole rotten structure down I hope we have the nad to do so. But this isn't the time to "kill them all", lets just kill those who oppose our will.

hey Husk'!
of that 300,000 - you should really be worried about the 90,000 who 1 to 10 years old carrying RPGs.
They will just swarm all over our Marines, right???
Not to worry!

You are correct - but this week also includes Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday. I guess that's where my head was at when I made that statement.

You might want to review your history and how WWII was really fought You don't win a battle going off half cocked and you don't win a war by not thinking your right....we shouldnt do anything too rash now should we. We should invite them to sit down and have some tea. Bomb that entire f'ing country and get out. Thge country will turn to crap again in about 5-10 years (if not sooner)

Sadr is one goofy bastard I agree, but what else could one expect from one(sadr) who gets monica like treatment from 99% of the US media.

"we seem to not be using armor or air power in this, and we are taking alot of ground casualties. i don't like it, it smells like one of these PC "don't hurt the children" things."
Settle down.....for every American killed you can bet 5 to 10 times more Iraqi's killed....women and children are being killed...just not indiscriminately......we don't know what we're using...coalition forces include air power and armour...

The insurgents west of Baghdad need reinforcements. They're pretty much down to Ramadi, Fallujah, and Habbinayah. And Hollywood!

Ah thanks for the clarification. I guess those reports of possible large US casualties are all part of your master plan then. Thanks.
Maybe you should stop your yamering for a few minutes.

That's the same strategy we used to surrender in Vietnam, leaving millions to the tender mercies of the Communists.
