U.S. Muslims seek Pentagon probe on Iraq photo
Soldier's sign says he killed boy's father, impregnated sister
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called for a Pentagon investigation of a photograph circulating on the Internet that apparently shows an American soldier mocking an Iraqi child.
The photo sent to CAIR seems to be of an American soldier standing next to two Iraqi children who are giving the thumbs-up sign. One child holds a hand-lettered sign in English that reads: "Lcpl Boudreaux killed my Dad, th(en) he knocked up my sister!" ("Knocked up" is American slang for making someone pregnant out of wedlock.)

I have two observations on this one. 1) The Council on American Islamic relations is a peculiar name. Apparently, as the title would infer, you can't be an American and an Islamic (muslim) at the same time. If you could, then you wouldn't need a Council to improve relations with yourself.
2) Why does CAIR clarify what the term "knocked-up" means? Their mission statement is:
"CAIR is dedicated to presenting an Islamic perspective on issues of importance to the American public. In Offering that perspective, we seek to empower the Muslim community in America through political and social activism."
Yet in clarifying the "American slang" aren't they perhaps showing and agenda whose origin might be outside our borders? Just a thought.

th(en) he knocked up my sister!" Yep, I bet all young Iraqi children understand American slang such as this, what with repression of all western contact until recently.

Can't read the writing too well but here is the photo in question. This is just more CAIR carping.

It is very simple to take a photo like that and put anything you want on the sign! I think the photo has been manipulated.

Not sure of your response or arguments against this, and I am no defender of CAIR who I think has been caught sending money to terrorist if I recall correctly ... HOWEVER, if this photo is true then this soldier should be repremanded. This is mocking the population there, and we nead only positive messages. This soldier was rather tastless in his choice of humor.

and a good point was made, this photo could be a mock up ... i.e. it is easy to make a photo such as this say anything you want.

This is a terrorist organization. They should all be arrested immediately and given very harsh sentences.

Yeah, its a little out of bounds. I think a slap on the wrist will do though. He's risking his life there and he took a goofy picture for his freinds at home... its not a very big deal. The terrorists at CAIR are the ones who need to be "reprimanded"... with the electric chair preferably.

I doubt the soldier did anything of the sort but was only trying to be funny...
The soldier did a poor job at humor if this is indeed true, should be reprimanded.

here's a blow up - looks like this was just a 'poor taste' joke by this soldier, and not a mockup. NOt sure what the arabic writing on the bottom of the photo says, but it appears that this picture is making the rounds on the arabic media that live for this sort of stuff ...

Not really arguing... just observing. IS there a council on American - Christian relations? American-Jewish relations? I could see a Council on Amercian-Aghani relations or a Council on American-Saudi relations but doesn't their name strike you as odd at all?

It's probably all Osama (or Usama, whatever) bin Ladens idea. He doctored the photo using his pirated version of Adobe Photoshop that is on his laptop which is with him his cave in Afghanistan.

The person in the fatigues looks to be about fourteen years old.
As far as I can see, anybody can scribble nonsense on a piece of cardboard and be photographed with it... or PhotoShopped, for that matter.
There is not "there" here.

it is easy to make a photo such as this say anything you want. However, we do not know if the soldier knew what was on the cardboard.
We do not know how the picture was set up, ie, 'Cough Cough, unbiased media photographer says"' Hey, you kids, stand here, soldier, get your picture in the paper, stand in back of the kids'".
How do we know what the soldier was thinking?
I think this agency needs to look into why the Muslims were hanging American body parts from wires. Or would that not be objective?
