OPERATION VALIANT RESOLVE

Operation Valiant Resolve

Today marks the start of Operation Valiant Resolve, the (finally) Marine action to (supposedly) quash Falluja.

The Marines have "addresses" they're checking out (yeah, sounds like war to me). Reports confirm that the town has remained completely uncooperative when it comes to bringing those who killed the Americans to justice.

Not surprising, because the entire town is responsible and we should respond accordingly. I remain concerned that this will be a police action, not a visit of war upon Falluja.

The reason violence is increasing in Iraq is because Iraqis have seen that there is no punishment for being violent, and as Americans we apparently are looking more like Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter every day.

No wonder Iraqi terrorists have become emboldened. Until we get serious and show them what war really is, things will only get worse.

For crying out loud, who's running the show out there? Dennis Kucinich?? Michael Moore? Howard "The Scream" Dean? We need to let the Marines do their job, and that would include, as Rush Limbaugh noted, "to kill people and break things."

Send a comment to the Department of Defense that you understand war is war and that you want Marines to be Marines, not Girl Scouts. The PC gentility running this show will not only condemn Iraq but it will condemn this nation as well.

I know all of you are quite eloquent, so have at it. Go to the official DoD comment page on the www.defenselink.mil site.

This was off Tammy Bruce's website. My interest in her has been piqued lately as she has a new show on local LA talk radio. My interest in her was piqued today as a rabid Dem I know at the gym was sweating on the stairmaster and screaming (literally) about how awful she is in my ear this afternoon.

This guy was so weirded out by her that he called up her show and figured out that she was broadcasting off site, (he said she’s either broadcasting from San Fran or West Hollywood – a nice slur from a compassionate Lib), and I suddenly realized that Tammy Bruce has passed the test. So I looked up her site and liked what she had to say about Falujah again.

Geez, if what Tammy B has to go through in her daily life as a “JFK dem” is anything like the unprompted, sweaty diatribe I had to endure today (I just slowly backed off my elliptical machine saying that “I liked her…”) -- well -- it all made me mad. Somehow, this former NOW prez got it. It takes strength of character to turn your back on your gay friends’ politics. We need more Dems like her.

I'll tale the slow start as a positive. Then I suspect the Marines will ratchet up the violence, if that becomes necessary. You got to remember we hold all the cards. The Fallujians only have AK47s and RPG-7s, and thats not much fire power for M-1s, Bradley's (don't know the name of the Marine's APC).

The have developed a nasty tank round, its called a CANISTER SHELL used by the main gun, (like the old style Civil War Round, its basically a shot gun shell) and talk about taking out some rioters, one shot and the riot has ended.

Amen to that.

Who does? Conservatives? FR? Who? I'd give Tammy Bruce about ten minutes before she would be booted from FR.

I'm not sure if you realize it or not, but Tammy Bruce has had a real reversal in recent years. True, she may still hold some liberal values, but this woman is at least honest in that she isn't a plant waiting for the liberals to water her. She thinks for herself and if she sees it differently than the party, she says so. Quite frequently she does.

I may not always agree with her, but she is worthy of entering into debate with.

I'm aware of her frustration at the democratic party having abandoned her, as she puts it. Much like Zel Miller (however, he's conservative).

I agree. But I also believe the feisty, liberal Ms. Bruce would have a short stay here on FR, especially if she debated the wrong person.

We are all Americans, and we need to stand together, for we have only one country.

No wonder Iraqi terrorists have become emboldened. Until we get serious and show them what war really is, things will only get worse. Forget political correctness, we are in a real battle, with real people.

The reason violence is increasing in Iraq is because Iraqis have seen that there is no punishment for being violent, and as Americans we apparently are looking more like Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter every day.

The reason violence is increasing in Iraq is that our enemy terrorists are increasingly desperate to create carnage, chaos and disenchantment as they see their box shrink and options fade.

They're throwing the kitchen sink at us. The terrorist cartel, Hezbollah, Iranians and Syrians cannot afford a free, stable Iraq and retain their grip on their societies.

I'd like someone to quantify the exact number of dead Fallujahn innocents and pulverized buildings that would "send a message" and adequately show them "War".

Tammy's clueless.

CANISTER SHELL used by the main gun,

We had rounds similar to that in my 105mm cannon battery in Viet Nam in 1968. It was a muzzle blast round (exploded as soon as it cleared the muzzle of the cannon) and contained 750 steel darts (flechettes). It was called a beehive round because of the sound the darts made as they traveled through the air.

"Beehive"

Sounds like a "crowd pleaser" to me.
