Clinton Would Have Stopped 9/11
Media Research Center ^ | 4/1/04 | Jonathan Alter

Posted on 04/05/2004 7:56:44 PM PDT by NotchJohnson

“It’s now obvious that the 22nd Amendment barring third presidential terms punishes the nation more than the politician....After three years of George Bush’s flailings, who doesn’t yearn for Clinton’s steady, nuanced leadership? We would have been spared those fiscally destructive tax cuts, the environment would not have been despoiled, and America would not be an outcast among nations. With a serious and non-ideological foreign policy team which had already thwarted at least two major terrorist attacks, there’s every reason to believe that if voters could have elected Bill Clinton to a third term, September 11th would have been just a day just like any other.” – Newsweek Senior Editor Jonathan Alter in “Time to Bring Back Bubba,” in the April 1 edition.

The only thing I can ever remember Clinton stopping, was the landings, taxiing and take offs from LAX, while he got himself a $200 dollar haircut. What a waste, a $200 dollar hair cut for a 2 cent head.

Thank God and Greyhound that critter is gone. Too bad he won't shut up.

He used the date of 4/01 simply as cover in order to write what he truly feels.

The 'rats and DUmmies got a big yuck out of it.

Well if that's their attempt at tossing a little absurdity into the mag as a joke, it was a miserable failure, since the level of absurdity wasn't much, if any, over that of their usual editorial content.

Is that why the 9/11 murderers started training on his watch?

Because that is a FACT, even his most stalwart defenders don't absolve BJ of some responsibility for 9/11.

W was in office less than a year when it happened.

What a waste, a $200 dollar hair cut for a 2 cent head.

That's a good way to put it. The thought that crossed my mind was, "No matter how much you polish it, it's still a turd."

That's the most insane rhetorical question I've ever heard. Unbelievable.

Tell me this a piece from the Onion? Perhaps Jonathan missed the first WTC attack, followed by the multiple attacks waged against America. The hillarity of this is that according to OBL himself, not only was American a "paper tiger" after Somalia, he issued a declaration of war against America after Clinton's failed Afghan/Sudan attack on him. Of course that was also after both our embassies were hit, resulting in more injuries than were suffered on 9/11.

The irony in all this, is GW came into office promising to withdraw from conflicts around the globe...he ran almost as an isolationist and gave no impression otherwise. It wasn't until "after" 9/11 that Bush's policy changed. The idea that Clinton was loved among our enemies in the world is a joke. Hell, read some of the Arab press releases as they even accused Clinton of "wagging the dog" to distract from Monica. It's not our allies I worry about; it's our enemies...and CLinton made plenty of them.

remember when they were all stuck on the word gravitas?
hope I spelled that right. It's pronounced Grah vee tahs
I can't believe that yutz wrote that article!
Doesn't he know it takes a while for actions that a president carried out to take effect on the nation.
The "bad" economy, and 9/11 were not because of GWBush!
gimme a break.
I'm thinking that these poor, misinformed, pinheads should really be brought to the light.
Anyone interested in leading the way for these lost souls?

Democrats Need Boost from Bill

Bill Schneider: “Lately, Kerry’s poll numbers have been drooping. Some Democrats worry his flip-flops could leave them out in the wilderness for another four years. They want a candidate who will arouse their base and get those poll numbers rising. Enter Bill Clinton. No Democrat stirred more passion at their recent unity dinner, and some law professors argue the Constitution does not bar him from serving as Vice President, just a third term as President. If Kerry keeps running a flaccid campaign, he’ll need the political equivalent of Viagra. A Kerry-Clinton ticket might be the right prescription for Democrats who want to mount a stiff challenge to President Bush.”
Judy Woodruff: “An exciting possibility. Thanks, Bill.”
– Exchange on CNN’s Inside Politics, April 1.

Um, I'm pretty sure that ole Bill would have been busy lubing his cigar on 9/11, had he been lucky enough to earn a third term... oh, wait...did I say lubing his cigar? Oops, I meant LIGHTING his cigar, my bad...
I'm pretty sure there are support groups out there for you.
I hope you can find one, being that disillusioned must really hurt.
I'll say a prayer for you, Mr. Notch
