Why is he doing this? Doesn't make sense.Unless he wants to make sure that the networks cover it, when they might be likely NOT to do so. Could be VEY interesting for the Dems, and I don't mean in a good way. More of that Briar Patch strategery.

what these jackasses ignore is that this is AFTER the war was over...when national secrets would not be exposed in a time of war...

Two things that the Demos just can't stand: Powell and
Rice. How dare "blacks" become Republicans! All blacks are supposed to blindly stay in line with the Democrats. To think for themselves....much less...be a part of a Republican adminstration just cannot be allowed. They will "eat their own" rather than lose control of black voters.

Why is he doing this? Doesn't make sense. You're so right, it doesn't make sense. The 9-11 families, heard applauding in the background as Dick Clarke testified, demanded Zelikow's resignation last month. Apparently, information had surfaced that he participated in Bush Administration briefings, prior to Sept. 11, on the threat al Qaeda posed to the country.
I'm beginning to doubt the source of this report. Following the Yahoo link, I see that this is actually a Newsweak (aka MSNBC) article. Now it is starting to make quite a bit of sense.

Just because someone in the security agencies suggested the possibility, it doesn't mean that the scenario was ever presented to Condeleeza Rice in any significant way. Remember, significant way is the key word. The security agencies are huge bureaucracies which an administration that had only been in office for seven months could not have had time to bring under their own control, especially with all the delay tactics that the Democrats were using against them.

"Why isn't anyone looking into the matter of this Zekilow committing blackmail." Its not blackmail. Blackmails a crime because it involves taking of money or something else of value, similar to theft. This is just arm twisting and is a common method in politics to get people to vote the way you want. Nothing illegal or immoral about it.

Rather than being concerned about why they want Condi Rice to testify; why isn't this question being asked instead: Why in the world aren't Clinton and Gore before the inquiry panel? Far more went on during their watch, than in the short nine months of the bush Administration.

It begs this question."Did the US know that Muslem fanatics were planning the fly commercial aircraft into American cities and tall building before 911?"The question, that such a scenario would be believed, before 9-11, looms larger than who knew what and when. 911 really is, even after the fact, "unbelievable". But then so is the idea of a sitting president having oral sex with a woman not his wife and young enough to be his daughter in the Oval Office.
We live in strange times. We do not recognize our enemies. We think all nations are our friend. We leave our front door unlocked so not to offend our violent neighbors. We leave the back door unlocked for our mistress. We then wonder why the furniture is gone, the house is on fire, our family dead and our mistress is off with those who did it.
America is running a fever.

Even when the dems get what they want, they lie and twist the facts to the Republicans' disadvantage.
Looks like they have this one computerized for every possible outcome.
Pray for a ghost in the machine.

The photo, from a Nov. 22, 1945, New York Times story, showed presidential chief of staff Adm. William D. Leahy, appearing before a special congressional panel investigating the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The point was clear: The White House could no longer get away with the claim that Rice's appearance would be a profound breach of precedent. Well let's see now.
Note the date of the investigation: November 22, 1945.1) This was AFTER the 1945 election (the results of the investigation could not be used for an election smear).
2) The man who was president on December 7th, 1941 was DEAD by the time this investigation was held.
3) The investigation was held until AFTER the war was completed (and came nearly 4 years after the event).
But other than that, it's all the same. < /sarcasm >

Therefore, I would look to the only way to defeat us--fomenting dissent from within. It worked in Vietnam, and it could work with the War on Terrorism. The Axis powers had Axis Sally, Lord Haw Haw, and "Tokio Rose" to sow the seeds of dissent and amplify doom and gloom stories.
The Saddamites have just added a new broadcaster to their ranks:
