Hi, Feather! I hope you're not too ill. it seems to be a sick season.
I had to rush home to Florida last week to help Mrs. Cut. She has a chronic illness, and it flared up unexpectedly. She never wants to worry me, so she didn't tell me for a month, and kept taking care of Short Cut the whole time, by herself. By the time I got there, she was almost bedridden. I cared for her AND him, and the house for a few days until she was better. Once we got medication in her, she began to get well again. her folks are going down next week to help out as well.
Sad thing is, when I got back here, my Chief removed me from all my collateral duties! he said that he couldn't trust me to be at 100% because my family "seems to be having all this trouble".
Sheesh. Ten years, spotless, nay, exemplary record, and because my mom dies and my wife gets sick, I get fired. What a leader.

Glad to hear Mrs Cut is ok and that you got to see Short Cut.
Bummer about your Chief being such a jerk.

I'm sorry you're stuck with a boss who's obviously jealous of and resents that you have a family to care for. (I'm stereotyping here, but it's been my experience that those who don't make allowances for the normal everyday ups and downs of having and caring for a family usually don't have close relationships themselves.)
