Please don't scorn folks with mental conditions. It's no path of roses, for them or their families. Have the same compassion you would for someone suffering from any debilitating illness. They don't ask for it, they don't deserve it, God knows.

I agree. The person named "Dick" who is making such mean remarks on this thread might want to consider the HELL her family went through during the time this girl was missing.

Sounds to me like the girl had some kind of breakdown.

I agree. I have an 11 year old son with Asperger's Syndrome. It's no fun dealing with rages and meltdowns, or searching for him at night in the woods, and finding him by his crying.

Jeffrey Dahmer's family probably went through hell too, but that does not mean no one can write the unvarnished truth about him and the fact that girl has a family should not mean that she is exempt from any negative comments or skepticism.
