US Promises to Punish Those Responsible for Gruesome Iraq Attacks

The top U.S. official in Iraq says Wednesday's gruesome attacks on four American civilians whose burned bodies were put on display in the town of Fallujah will not go unpunished.

"It's going to be deliberate, it will be precise and it will be overwhelming," U.S. General Mark Kimmitt said, speaking to reporters in Baghdad. He warned insurgents in the town of Fallujah to be prepared for U.S. forces to strike back following Wednesday's killing of four American contractors by a frenzied mob that dragged their charred bodies through the streets.

Televised footage of the act has provoked outrage from Americans in the United States and led U.S. administrator in Baghdad Paul Bremer to issue a warning.

"Their deaths will not go unpunished," he promised.

The White House blamed the attacks on supporters of Saddam Hussein. The remains of the four were to be turned over to the U.S. military.

A day after the attack, three American soldiers were injured in another attack near Fallujah, this time when their Humvee struck a roadside bomb.

The jihadis can use this trailer for their next countdown clock....in fact, the trailer to the movie was first put on the web in November if I recall correctly. The movie looks fascinating. I wish it wasn't about global warming though; I mean it can well be about the End Times or Last Days just the same...It is every terrorists dream.

I couldn't find anything about the "boats" but here is a story re: the attack. Nothing is mentioned of dead suicide terrorists so I'm still wondering how they got away. This could happen in any of our harbors it seems.

BASRA, Iraq (Reuters) - Suicide bombers launched three boat attacks on Iraq's vital Basra oil export terminal on Saturday, killing two members of U.S.-led forces and forcing the facility to close.

The attacks were the most audacious against Iraqi infrastructure since insurgents bent on disrupting the occupied country's postwar recovery started targeting oil installations nearly a year ago.

Iraq's primary oil outlet was not damaged in the attack but it was closed and workers were evacuated. It was not immediately clear how long the closure would last.

An Iraqi oil official said a ministry team would be dispatched from Baghdad on Sunday to assess the damage.

"This is not expected at all. The terminal is heavily patrolled," he said.

A Fifth Fleet statement said in addition to the two dead, four other coalition members were wounded in the attacks.

"The coalition boarding team were killed and wounded as a result of three concurrent waterborne attacks in the Arabian Gulf," the statement said.

It said an eight-man interception team had approached a bomb-rigged boat when it exploded. Twenty minutes later, two unidentified small boats also blew up, the statement said.

The statement did not identify the nationalities of the dead and wounded, pending notification of next of kin. The wounded were being treated in Kuwait, it said.

A British Defense Ministry spokeswoman in London said: "A boat exploded next to (the terminal). But there was no damage to the oil terminal or the boat alongside it. As far as I know there were no British casualties."

So my question is why are they only targeting the city? That seemed like a strange threat considering they always say they want to kill ALL of us, now it's only NYC.

You know, the cave of darkness, or shadows or the winds of war whatever. They just don't get it, they will never beat us ALL.

They may try chanting in Detroit but I predict it will not last long once they begin. Halloween goblins will probably get them.

Thanks Just Piper. I've been with you all since Thread 1 and really appreciate the information you have provided. I haven't openly contributed to this thread, but I send my prayers out to all of you when you are ill, anxious, and frustrated. I take the threat warnings seriously, yet it seems like there are too many people who stick their heads in the sand and refuse to acknowledge the threat or do anything to prepare. Our government can't protect all of us. It's not that they don't want to, but it is impossible. In the event of a major disaster, priority for the governmant will be preservation of the government. We will have to be responsible for ourselves. I accept that. Therefore I pray, prepare, and go about my life. That's all I can do. Peace be with you. :) TMGrasshoppers

Were the cut fences on Lagoon Drive? If they were, there is no agriculture near there. Totally industrial and residential, near the airport and harbor.
