Many seem to forget the America stands to protect innocent civilians everywhere - not kill them.

Indeed, we premised this war (in part) on Saddam's horrible crimes against his own innocent civilians. Now people call for the extermination of these same innocents, and claim that's just fine?

It's nauseating.

Yes, it is. In a perfect world, there would be no war, no 9-11, no TERRORISTS, and all of our young men and women in the military would be home safe and sound right now.

That said, had the powers that be thought the way you do 50 years ago, NONE of us would be posting on this board right now.

I wonder how many here, who rightly condemned Saddam as a monster because he gassed whole Kurdish villages in retaliation for some Kurds rebelling against him, are the same folks who are now calling for wiping out the entire city of Fallujah (with a population of several hundred thousand) because a small fraction of its residents rebelled against our troops?
