Foxnews host Bill O'Reilly just previewed his show. "Problems continue for the U.S. Military in Fallujah. Why doesn't the U.S. Military just go ahead and level it?"
I have to say that I agree with Bill. Level the place.

Why don't you direct those comments at your buddy null and void for his comments up in #466. Ummmm, I didn't call you a liberal, I merely asked if you were one based on your words and attitude. Looks like I hit a nerve, though...

Oh I'm sorry. From some of the posts I've seen at fr directed at liberterians and anti-war conservatives I thought it was quite permissible.Yeah. Tell me about it! (see my profile)...

"I'm open to other turns of phrase to bring a bigger view of the situation, and to add emphasis." I am taking a bigger view of the situation, my FRiend...I just believe that our strategic pinpoint bombing in taking over Iraq was superb and totally made LIARS outta the Leftists who complained that our liberation of Iraq was resulting in the mass-murder of innocent women and children. Due to this, I believe we hold the higher moral ground and I'd hate to lose it just to put the fear of God into the entire Iraqi population. Yes, I wanna put the fear of God into those who would attack us, but I don't think that includes the entire population of Fallujah.
Does that mean I believe no amount of collateral damage is acceptable? Definitely not, but calls to carpet-bomb the entire city are misguided, imho.

"... he would tolerate no dissent in Iraq, and used to level any village that opposed him."He tortured people who disagreed with him. We're talking about exterminating HIS supporters, not because they "dissent", but because they're dangerous out of control animals, as exhibited by their recent behavior.
If you're serious, you're an idiot.

We will not accomplish either of your points, one or two, to a level of certainty that is required by the President without conquering Iraq. If the residents of Iraq are still killing US soldiers then we have not accomplished the mission. I also, do not accept your main premise, that is, it is a city of innocents. Some may be, like citizens of Hiroshima, but they decided for years to support a regime of hatred to the USA and they are still killing Americans. Therefore I can't and the President will not assume that it is a city of innocents.
In a few days we will see what the wrath of war has wrought in regards to the innocents of Iraq.

"Problems continue for the U.S. Military in Fallujah. Why doesn't the U.S. Military just go ahead and level it?" I don't think this option was discussed today on The Anti-O'Reilly Factor, only running away as fast as possible so we don't make them even more mad at us.
To: Diogenesis
We'd better get on with it before the sumbitches get into their holes or hide in the mountains.

Actually, we were talking about "leveling Fallujah."
Thanks for a voice that favors a more focused approach. I am with Peg Noonan's piece in Opinion Journal today. Find those who did it, kill them, then blow up the bridge.

Leveling seems to be an idea that is as bad as they are. Do we want to stoop to their level.
That will buy us nothing...

Close enough. You may not get all of them with one shot. It may take two or three shots.
