O'Reilly to call for the leveling of Fallujah?
Foxnews ^ | March 31, 2004. | Bill O' Reilly

Posted on 03/31/2004 4:31:20 PM PST by ConservativeMan55

Foxnews host Bill O'Reilly just previewed his show. "Problems continue for the U.S. Military in Fallujah. Why doesn't the U.S. Military just go ahead and level it?"

I have to say that I agree with Bill. Level the place.

Actually, someone expressed it earlier... It's called stress relief for something that is absolutely horrible...

A very large pig pen would suit me. Islamic people are crude and ignorant and need reminders that they can not insult others without the expectation of larger insults in return. Boys and girls, we are in all out war with Islam and somebody has got to take somebody out. We can annihilate them if necessary. It is becoming necessary.

Gotta go..
Gotta get up and try to rearrange the minds of some 90 teenagers tomorrow.
Ya know (I teach a Computer Lab and don't get the chance much to get into current events)it's amazing that their minds can be opened to a conservative point of view if you just get real, have the facts, be prepared to counter the other 9-10 yrs of liberal brain washing.
On Thursdays, I have a open forum in my class (to encourage a topic for WEB page formation)
Lately it's been quite interesting, Kids have a innate sense of fairness... and most of 'em are leaning our way.
Good night Ya'll

Go ahead and tell me my history and background

About all I know is you look like a geek, and like Kate Bush. (Actually you don't look all that much different than I, perhaps a bit slimmer).

What I can surmise from your posts is that you either cannot or will not recognize that this is a battle for survival. You, like John Kerry, Bill Clinton and their ilk, appear to want to treat it as a police matter.

This is where we disagree, I believe it's a war. I believe it's a battle to the death, and all we hold dear is in the balance.

If Cliton was president in the early 1940's, WWII would have been far different. Japan and Germany would have quietly, and not so quietly, seized enough of the world's resources that by the time they got to us they would own the rest of the world. America would have no choice but to fall, either through capitulation or a final solution defeat.

Frankly, I can't see you sitting still while a single Japanese or German city was bombed, but I can see you standing idly on the sidelines when a London or Peking burns to the ground.

It saddens and disgusts me. I hope I'm wrong about you. Am I?

And hopefully, a few days from now, we'll realize that the military response was entirely appropriate...

This from someone who advocates killing civilians as retribution for...the killing of civilians.

Check your post above. You advocated Truman's decision to nuke Hiroshima. You sir, (or madam) are a hypocrite, in the worst sense of the word.

You must be a practicing mortician.

You truly are a full-blown example of the Messiah Complex.

I wish you well, I really do.

No levelling, we have loads of pictures. Send in a few more brigades of cavalry. Sweep the town, identify the perps, kill them.

If we take fire from this or that building, level the building. But no indiscriminate killing. Kill the bad guys.

I'd seen that pic earlier in the day. It doesn't shock me.

These are the same bastards that rammed planes into the World Trade Center.

Yep. Badly wrong.

US Air Force, 1984-1994 - I was over there the first time we had this fight.

Speaking as a vet, the last thing I would want to do to that town would be to destroy it. Too much at stake. I'm not talking world relations, or public opinion - I'm talking about the lives of our soldiers.

You propose to destroy the town - how many American lives are you willing to sacrifice on this small stage to make that town atone for what happened?

Personally, I'm not willing to sacrifice any of them. Not over Fallujah and what they did. You want to make the town suffer? There are plenty of ways to do it without destroying it.

The difference between World War II and Iraq is simple - at least to me. Dresden was a city in a country that we were fighting against. Hiroshima was a city in a country we were fighting against. Fallujah, despite the terrorists that are in it - is a city in a country that we are trying to rebuild and re-liberate.

How can we hope to make any gains in the country if we, as the "liberators," destroy anyone that stands against us? We can't. We can cow the Iraqi people into submission - but that won't accomplish anything - we'll have another client state - and that's not what we're aiming for.

The Iraqi's themselves are going to have to deal with Fallujah, one way or the other. If we go in and eliminate the city because of the deaths of four men - then what do we do to the rest of the country over the deaths of all the GIs over there?

Destroy it? Hardly. Isolate it? Better yet. Don't support them anymore. They don't want us feeding them? Then we don't feed them. We don't provide power, we don't provide medical care - we don't provide targets. But to send in more troops to level the town? That's an emotional response - let the professionals handle it. They've got a lot more experience in this than you or I.
