Foxnews host Bill O'Reilly just previewed his show. "Problems continue for the U.S. Military in Fallujah. Why doesn't the U.S. Military just go ahead and level it?"
I have to say that I agree with Bill. Level the place.

O'Reilly Akbar!

I hope you never get cancer. The thought of needing to cut it out would present you with a lethal dilemma your world view can't handle.

Let the corporations have Basra; we need some green(-glowing) spaces in Iraq.

Put the bong down man.
We got us an entirely different problem here. I know it's hard, but try to focus.

How dare you! That is a pathetic, cowardly statement. We have our young men and women over there fighting against terrorism to help protect YOU. Yes, from those who supported terrorists that killed 3000 American civilians. And your solution is to kill a far greater number of Iraqi civilians.
You're understandably upset here, but I'd submit those who advocate purposefully killing civilians in the name of protecting civilians are...misguided. To say the least.

Much as I'd like to just go in shooting, we can't quite go that far. But I'd go for marshall law in the town and orders to shoot on sight anyone with a weapon or demonstrating. Also, I'd have constant air patrols with the green light to straf any groups that looked foreboding - no questions asked. We have to go in and clean out the vermine, but also protect the innocents there. It is the higher road we must take!
To: ConservativeMan55
If the murderers aren't from Fallujah..then the people of Fallujah SHOULD HAVE DEALT with the terrorists a long time ago.Agreed.
To: ConservativeMan55
Hell. We should have been dropping bombs this morning. No. Waiting a day, during which time we get those tapes played over and over again on the media so the world knows why we're doing what we're about to do, is far mroe effective.

Kill a few today. Tomorrow, drop a thousand sorties of napalm on their funeral procession.
To: don-o
Anyone in Fallujah who refuses to deal with the terrorists.

I'm not in favor of killing innocents..
But, there is a problem with the innocents. The terrorists hide behind the innocents. Likewise, the innocent ones hide terrorist relatives.
Maybe there could be a way of separating the nursing mothers, babies, old men, and grandmas out of the area. However, I just don't see how that would happen without a house to house search and seizure that would put more Americans at risk of being torched and chopped.
At the same time, i tend to think that the innocents would have left their homes along time ago being aware that their little town was so dominated by zealots.

I have a great idea. Let Richard Perle drive around Fallujah for ten hours every day from now until the first Tuesday in November.
We can all be assured that whatever needs to be done to make our troops and civilian personnel safe in that city will be done with a vengeance.

You would think that the other 495,000 people could deal with the baddies themselves. Or at the very least drop a dime on them (or most of them) anonymously, if they chose to do so through fear. That they don't, speaks volumes for the naivete, or ignorance, of your assumption. Are you turning in criminals in your hometown? If not, why not?
