Any wonder the Dum-Dem crowd hates Ann? It's her courage they can't stand much less the gems she keeps throwing down in front of them causing them to choke and stumble and others to be delivered from their clutches.

this is a good piece to cut and paste to your email address books. I love it when lurking at DU that they absolutely go ballistic when they get stuff like this from their relatives.
I got a good one from my Dad today - a compilation of late-night jokes about Kerry. If anyone wants it let me know.

Oh no, she is wrong about Clinton/Clarke. He promised he would hunt down the terrorists and punish them, while "feeling our pain."

August of 1981. Carter would have had malaise ROE in 1980 and there would have been no shooting back. F-14s from VF-41 splashed 2 Sukhoi SU-22s.

"Bush came into office telling his national security adviser, Condoleezza Rice, he was "tired of swatting flies" he wanted to eliminate al-Qaida."
Nice & tough rhetoric, but has al-Quida been eliminated yet? It has morphed now that a lot of it's original leaders have been captured or killed. They lost their safe haven in Afghanistan. But, I can't realy say they have been eliminated.
The fight has been engaged - and we still have a long way to go before al-Quida is erased from the face of the earth.
Yes, but it has been engaged by Bush, unlike the previous 8 Clinton years which John Kerry holds up as HIS model for how to wage the War on Terror.

Imagine her handing you your *ss for failing to please her.
The way I see it...I'd be so pleased myself, it would be like a cold...
I'd get over it.

The tinder had been laid for the conflagration years before, but the serious spark was not struck until 9/11/2001. There had been warnings, by various fire marshalls, but the neighborhood committee had come around and and assured all the citizens, that, not to worry, the fire trucks would get there if ever they were needed, there was no reason to take all those troublesome and frankly fussy steps to remove the fire hazards.
On the day when the fire alarm went off for real, only sheer good luck and some really quick thinking kept the devastation from being so much worse than it finally turned out to be. Sure, there were some steps that had been taken, but but there was so much more that had been neglected for years, that considerable effort and energy were lost before we regained equilibrium. We had to clean up the mess, while simultaneously identifying the culprits, track them down, and prepare to take them out by the most effective means we could muster. We were more prepared for the Second World War when it came, than we were for 9/11. At least then, we knew the face of the enemy, and could count on the loyalty of all Americans.
