A DAY IN THE LIFE OF PRESIDENT BUSH (PHOTOS): 3.31.04
yahoo, whitehouse.gov ^ | March 31, 2004 | GretchenEE

Posted on 03/31/2004 2:40:06 PM PST by GretchenEE

Baseball fans, draw near. President and Mrs. Bush hosted a luncheon for baseball's Hall of Fame members and new inductees in the State Dining Room at the White House. (Mr. Bush will throw out the first pitch on Monday in St. Louis.)

Laura Bush continued hosting Marta Sahagun de Fox, wife of Mexican President Vicente Fox, as the two First Ladies visited Martha's Table, an organization that helps low-income and homeless children, families and individuals in Washington. They packaged sandwiches for distribution and read a book in English and Spanish to children in a bilingual day-care class.

In an unwitting effort to carry on the cherry tree vs. magnolia tree controversy from yesterday's Dose, Mrs. Bush met with the 2004 Cherry Blossom Princesses in the East Room of the White House.

These bloom about now - before leaves come out on the tree. And it's deciduous - loses it's leaves in the fall.

The Magnolia bloom shown in the post following this one, keeps it leaves all year 'round, and the pure white blooms usually don't show up until around the end of July. I usually am adoring them in full bloom on the Fourth of July. Although the truth is, they do sprout a white bloom here or there, as soon as the temperatures stay consistently above 60 degrees.

Joe, dear paranoid Joe, I hope you come back and read this even though you've said you'd leave.

You didn't say on THIS thread that you hated the President, but you've said hateful things about him on hundreds of other threads. I can read, you know.

As to the taste........we are at WAR, Joe, whether you realize it or not. There were 8 tragic deaths today, but that doesn't mean the President, or anyone else should cancel their activities, or stop what they are doing because of it. And it doesn't mean that this GOOD and COURAGEOUS man who is leading us in that war shouldn't do his JOB, which today, included baseball Hall of Fame nominees.

That would be absurd........and it has nothing to do with 'taste.'

You object to the President because you are a one issue person and the President doesn't make you happy because he doesn't do what you want him to do about your pet issue. It's no secret on this forum.

This thread has been going on for over 3 years, and it's been posted when tragedies occurred (including 9/11), when the President has done things that none of us liked, and when he has made us as proud as we have ever been of anyone in our lives.

This thread is for discussion among friends about what President Bush has done on any given day.

And if we scare you, so be it. This is a group of hundreds of loving, supportive, politically involved, patriotic people who love and respect the President.

The problem is not that it's a 'private thread,' but that you don't fit in here.

There are such things as Tulip Trees, developed my Thomas Jefferson, and they grow to 80 feet. They have magnificant tulip shaped blooms of a creamy white. Their leaves are quite different from the Magnolias that keep their leaves year around - the latter being quite leathery and popular for front-door wreaths at Christmas instead of fur or pine wreaths. Dinner-table centerpieces in the South usually consist of Magnolia leaves, with some other flower in the center usually red or white roses, or a friend uses bunches of holly berries in the center of her tablepieces.

Because the Tulip Trees grow so tall, it is quite difficult to reach any of the flowers to use in a bouquet but they are spectacular. My neighbor used to have one until lightning split it right down the center.

Thanks, kay.

Say, can I ask you to pray a little more for the details of this weekend?

There are some strange complications that shouldn't be there, and we'd like prayer for the heart of one individual who could personally get in the way of Eric's being able to get to his brother's concert.

There is no way to express how important it is to both of them......and to us.

Now I've got to try to get some sleep. This silly mess has me tied in knots inside.

Gezzz, in light of what happened to our people earlier and the brutal images being shown nationwide tonight, you think it's a good time to be posting pictures of Bush at a luncheon with baseball players? Cripes...... Bad timing I would say.

The above is what I posted, Mr. Ohio. There was nothing in it that said or even implied that I hated the President. For the record, I do not hate the President. I was actually referring to those that posted this thread. I just thought it was not in good taste depicting the President having a luncheon with ball players, considering the horrific, brutal images being broadcast all over this country tonight. Just my opinion. Sorry if that rings your bell, Ohio.

Joe doesn't think the President has the right to ever have a good time, because Joe hates the President.

That's not true either, and I never stated that. For the record, those are your words, not mine.

Joe has a BIG problem, and he'd better leave us alone here, or he'll be banned again.

I'll be banned again? For what, voicing my opinion?

You are downright scary.

Sheesh!

I'll leave you to your private thread now and I hope no one else posts anything that doesn't quite suit you, as I am sure, you'll demand to have them silenced.

Joe, dear paranoid Joe, I hope you come back and read this even though you've said you'd leave. You didn't say on THIS thread that you hated the President, but you've said hateful things about him on hundreds of other threads. I can read, you know.

Well since you posted to me again, I'll respond.

I challange you to find just one of my posts where I stated I personally hated the President.

Of course all you'll find are some posts where I obviously disagree with some of his policies. I even think some of his policies are dangerous to this country.

But hating someone is a completely different.

It's a personal thing to hate someone. Do I disagree with some of his policies? Again, you bet I do and I have posted to that effect. There is a huge difference between being against bad policy, and actually, personally, hating someone. Don't you understand this?

But again, I never stated I hated the President personally or any other way. I repeat, I don't hate him.

You lied.

By the way, without going into details, people in my direct family have personally protected two President's of the United States. I would posts the photographs of my direct family members standing next to these Presidents, but you would never believe it anyway.

You have no idea how strongly I feel about this country and the real dangers it faces due to misguided policies. You have not a clue.

You best learn the difference between being passionate and outspoken against bad policy, and hating someone personally.
