Baseball fans, draw near. President and Mrs. Bush hosted a luncheon for baseball's Hall of Fame members and new inductees in the State Dining Room at the White House. (Mr. Bush will throw out the first pitch on Monday in St. Louis.)
Laura Bush continued hosting Marta Sahagun de Fox, wife of Mexican President Vicente Fox, as the two First Ladies visited Martha's Table, an organization that helps low-income and homeless children, families and individuals in Washington. They packaged sandwiches for distribution and read a book in English and Spanish to children in a bilingual day-care class.
In an unwitting effort to carry on the cherry tree vs. magnolia tree controversy from yesterday's Dose, Mrs. Bush met with the 2004 Cherry Blossom Princesses in the East Room of the White House.

They do always look like they're enjoying being together don't they?
Two attractive women... Laura the prettiest, of course.
But I like the wide-set eyes on Mexico's F.L. Maybe because my beautiful daughter has wide-set eyes.

If Mr. Ohio doesn't get to sleep in the bed with me, I'm not accepting the offer. ;o)
G'nite, Gretchen. GREAT job tonight!

I've always called the pink ones Tulip Trees.Me, too. In fact, I have one outside my house and it only blooms for a while but it is gorgeous.

Very happy to hear about your son coming home, ohioWfan! How did Eric's cat react to seeing him again? I just love cats and I'm curious because I remember that some months back you said that you all loved that cat but not as much as Eric. He's very old and you hoped that he would last until Eric came back.

I also take prescription Nasacort inhaler at night before I go to bed or I'd have a sinus infection that would never clear up.
To: altura
Thanks for the Congratulations. NOW I want him in his own bed at night.
(OK, OK, I'm greedy!)

Remember when we were battling in out over the color of GWB's eyes.
Good nite.
I'd better get to work on some of the school work that I brought home. Grading, reports.

Hi....thanks for the pics Gretchen.....always nice to visit sanity island. And, wouldn't it be nice if we conservatives in Washington, the State, could make it a BLUE state!!!

**Keep my cousin in your prayers...got hit in the head with a baseball going 100 miles an hour- had to have surgery on his face last weekend..he's only 14 years old too. **
How very tragic, jlyspio. I'll add your cousin to my prayer list. <>< Please, keep us posted on his recovery.

Yes!
Let us know about cat reaction.
I'm not a cat person--they always seem detached.
It will be interesting if cat has a big reaction to seeing Eric. I know Bubba would!

Good night and God bless your sleep, deeply.
To: Lady In Blue
He's still at Ft. Campbell, Lady, so he hasn't been home yet.
Cinnamon is doing just fine, and waiting for Eric's return. He's gonna make it! :o)
Thanks for remembering that!

Just a passing thought, if you two work on his reelection at the local level, there is a really good chance you might get to meet him [again]. I think it was olliemb in texas who said she had met him several times and he remembers her because she worked on a county committee for him. May mean more pictures with him, or a kiss on the cheek..... Just think of all the possibilities. You can verify the blue eyes, again.

Happy Birthday, fellow Aries. Hope all is well with you. Have a fabulous day.

He is such a geek.
I heard some news report, reported a bit sarcastically, that he won't be able to shake anyone's hand for three weeks, give a high-five for six weeks, or (to the relief of moms and babies everywhere) hold a baby for 8 weeks.
I can't help but wonder at the timing of this surgery; I mean, most of the time it can be done on a somewhat elective basis so WHY would he choose to have it done NOW, when he "needs" to shake hands and high-five and hold babies? Attention, maybe? (maybe they really siphoned someone else's brain into his head? or maybe they really had to siphon off a little botox?)
