...Eric Ruff who left them in a Starbucks coffee shop in Dupont Circle...

Eric is obviously an idiot.
That said, what is the big deal here for the libs? Since this is not the Clinton WH that is under fire, no one has killed Clarke's cat or sent a jogger to threaten him, or released personal dirt about him.

Great, the note reveals that the Bush administration was determined to do the right thing. I guess that would be a revelation to a liberal, though.

Real STUPID of this guy. We had enough problems with people in slick willie's administration LOOSING lap tops with TOP SECRET intel in them. Now this. It may not be a hill of beans but it is NOT a good thing to have a WH personel loosing notes of any kind.

I think I'll bypass Starbucks for coffee from now on since their employees don't respect customer privacy..

Article says, "Starbucks customer who found them..." not an employee.

I'll bet there are many Clinton holdovers.

The notes were written by Pentagon political appointee Eric Ruff who left them in a Starbucks coffee shop in Dupont Circle, not far from U.S. Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's home.
The notes are genuine, a Pentagon official said. They were compiled for an early morning briefing for Rumsfeld before the Sunday morning talk shows, during which administration officials conducted a flurry of interviews to counter the testimony of Richard Clarke, President George W. Bush's former terrorism czar who left the post in 2003. Rumsfeld appeared on Fox and ABC. Maybe it's the part of me still thinking like I did in the service, but I'm thinking Mr. Ruff should have any and all security clearances removed. I consider that to be a more important issue than the content of what he left behind, it's clear that he can't be entrusted with anything of any importance.

"Imagine if the notes were found from a Clinton aide"
Remember the "vacuum files" note. Or the guy that lied to his own diary?
LOL
These notes say "follow the rules" and "follow the law" and somehow this undermines the White House?

The customer who found these notes is scum. If you find someone's personal papers in a restaurant, you turn them over to an employee so that they can perhaps be returned to the person who left them. You don't hand them over to a third party to make them public - unless you're scum.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Starbucks doesn't seem to hire people with any sense of right or wrong. How wants to give their money to people with no moral values?

Try this thread:

Although Eric Ruff (who reportedly left the notes) appears to be a good guy - this above article proves your point.

The notes are good. Nothing negative in them.
To: js1138
there's nothing remotely embarrassing in it.

Yeah, but I sure don't like the idea of those people having directions to Rumsfeld's house.
