Marketing DOES care if you listen to the show. That's what sells commercials, and selling commercials is 100% of what radio is all about.

That relies on the assumption that this is a commercial venture, which is an untrue assumption in this case. This is a propaganda medium, not an effort to make money.

Unless you're an arbitron member, or part of some other ratings service, your listening to them will not affect the ratings one way or the other.
