A member of the Canadian parliament has submitted a bill to create a mandatory national registry for breast implants.
Judy Wasylycia-Leis said a registry is needed to ensure that at-risk women can be treated if specific products are found to be hazardous to their health. It would also enhance research capabilities on implants, improving the choices available to Canadian women, the Toronto Star reported.
Women have been treated like second-class citizens when it comes to health protection, she said. We don't know what the level of risk is so we can't really manage these products and give people adequate consent.
The bill requires the reporting of all implant surgeries, including information on the company that produced the equipment and the details of the procedures performed on the patient.
Between 100,000 and 200,000 Canadian women have breast implants.

Considering how many billions of Canadian dollars have been invested in the Canadian firearms registration program, they probably have decided that large breasts cause as many accidents as firearms and that if they register breasts they can use the same computer registration software.
Oh, Canada......
When enhanced breasts are outlawed only outlaws will have enhanced breasts!
....my cold dead hands.....
sorry

Yes. It's true. Canada has a breast crises. It extends far beyond implants. Not one Canadian breast is registered! Why, there could be terrorist breasts lurking in those brassieres!!
But the all-seeing government is making the difficult decision to create a Bureau of Organized Breasts (you do the acronym). Soon all Canadian breasts will be controlled far better that just cross-your-heart hoping. And the Dominion will be safe for the children.
Remember until breasts are outlawed, outlaws may have breasts.

How about instead of a "registry" why not just put up a website called "YourFakeBreastsMightExplode.com" that everyone knows about and can check.
No wait, that doesn't involve spending lots of money and keeping otherwise unemployable people on the public dole.

Repetative stress injures of the wrist will increase in the inspectors, worker compensation will have you sign a waiver...

I wonder if it ever occurred to this communist that women may not want this information on a government registry and that they may want a bit of privacy concerning their medical matters?
To: Loyalist
Good idea. There's no legitimate sporting purpose for those things.

A member of the Canadian parliament has submitted a bill to create a mandatory national registry for breast implants. Nice of the Canadian government to create a "victims list" for the trial lawyers. Undoubtedly the trial lawyers will be exempt from any do not call list too.
