March 31, 2004 -- WASHINGTON - National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice got her wish yesterday - the green light to testify in public before the 9/11 commission - and White House officials were confident she would effectively make the case that President Bush was vigilant against terrorism. The historic deal clearing the way for Rice's sworn testimony will put her in the spotlight as the wide-ranging probe gains steam and delves into explosive charges from former counterterrorism chief Richard Clarke that the White House didn't take the threat from Osama bin Laden seriously.

Its amazing that they actually got the media and Democrats to beg AND DEMAND that Condi testify. I have a feeling thats exactly what the administration wanted.

Yeah, but this played out exactly as Karl Rove had hoped it would, I suspect. John Kerry and the rest of his goons tried to impeach Rice's character by means of a disgruntled former staffer in the hopes that Rice would have to resign.
Now they get what they didn't want: Rice on live telly. The woman exudes class, style, intelligence, and grace. She doesn't suffer fools gladly, either.
