In 7:25 break, anchor reported "Terri Schiavo was rushed to a Pinellas County emergency room last night after nursing home staff noticed puncture wounds on her arm. The wounds appeared to be caused by a hypodermic needle! Toxicology tests were conducted but the results are not available yet!"

This could open a huge new round in this case. What did tests reveal? Who was last person in room? When was husband there? Was staffer trying the Angle of Death routine?

This will be developing hard all day!

Mrs. Schiavo was found in a disheveled state with her feeding tube wrapped around her back and an allergy band pulled up very tight on her arm like a tourniquet

The only reason her parents would have to use a needle would be to withdraw blood to determine if she was being poisoned but they would not have left her in such a state. This smells of a set up by the devil himself.

I understand the HINO wanted no cameras in the room. If he had allowed the cameras, he'd know about these marks and her teeth.

Yes, they do have color coded caps. The caps help you to easliy identify the gauge and length of the needle. Cap colors among manufacturers can vary, but the manufacturer can be easily identifed.

I'm sure they'd be able to figure out if the cap found was from the mfg. of the needles used at the nursing home.

Forensically, I hope they'll test for saliva on the cap. Many nurses (Hmmm....Michael is a nurse.../sarcasm) have a bad habit of biting the cap off with their teeth.

That was my first thought too. If Terri had no visitors between the time her parents left and the marks were found then it stands to reason the only people who could have done it was a nursing home worker. The only reasons for a worker to do such would be to implicate one or the other parties or was paid by one of the parties. One doesn't leave the crime scene in a shambles unless they were interupted in the deed or to bring attention to the deed. If Terri wasn't rumpled and scratched, then no one would have noticed a thing.

Good point about the saliva on the cap. I'd thought about fingerprints but dismissed it because of gloves and caps aren'ts smooth.

Terri's father said he didn't do it and she was okay when they left.

However, if someone tried to draw blood or inject her with something, they are in deep deep doo. This wasn't medically authorized and if they find out who did it, that person or persons can and should be charged criminally. I hope and pray it isn't the Schindlers because this could have far-reaching implications, not only on their access to Terri, but in the court cases pending before the courts. And the Schindlers just wouldn't be that stupid.

Maybe the nursing home will do it and say that it is part of a new monitoring system to keep tabs on all their residents. Terri just happens to be the first to get it. I know that if I ran a nursing home, there would be cameras everywhere to protect the residents.

From what we know the Schindler's are not allowed to visit privately, only Michael is allowed to visit behind closed doors and without anyone present and this has been his pattern before. oOne of the nurses who testified in easrlier court cases said she believed he had injected Terri before, but Judge Greer didn't care.
