Just wanted to post pictures of my new Baby Girl!
My wife was found to be suffering from Preeclampsia and the baby didn't have much amniotic fluid (would up even less!). Early delivery (32 weeks)was an absolute must for both Mommy and Baby.
Baby and Mommy are doing great!
Anna Elizabeth was born approximately 1:30 PM via C-section and weighs 3 lbs 11 oz.
Praise the Lord for the strenght he have us all and most especially to Baby Anna. Anna will get to come home when she reaches 4.5 lbs and is eating properly.
The Dr. is already backing off on the oxygen, as she is breathing very well on her own.
And the proud daddy with Baby Anna!
Just keeping the thread and news alive!
a cutie!
She just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter.
This is from Friday
Here she is with her Grandpa (My Father):
And here is a a close-up taken moments later. She sure looks happy!
What a smile she has for grandpa. Looks like she is getting the best of care. My 8 month old grandson is starting to walk and is into everthing. Get ready. They just keep getting cuter and soon you will get to buy bigger toys. Thanks for the update on little Freeper Anna. She is a beauty.
Is she growing, or what???? I see her nearly 24/7 and still can't believe how much she has grown and changed!
She is wonderful. What a pretty smile. As for growing. It is hard to believe. Its like getting to watch a miracle everyday. Thanks for the update.
Anyway, thought everyone would want an update so ---
Weight: 12 lbs 13 oz.
Length 23 inches
Head: 16 1/4 inches
According to the charts, she has officially caught-up. She is now right in the middle of the development charts for a 4 month old UNADJUSTED for her preemie birth! So she is right where she should be even if she was not a preemie.
All looks good Dr. said to keep up the great work so there we have it!
Another interesting comment from the Dr. Last appt, we were reminded that many preemie, and most who are breech need physical therapy for their legs. We were given contact info with Easter Seals. We received info, but didnt pursue it yet (under the impression it would be quite expensive and that she likely wouldnt need it immediately). Well, we found out that what insurance doesnt cover, the state does. Fine. What was even more interesting is that after the Drs exam, she said she is 100% sure Anna doesnt need it. She said that at 4 months it becomes obvious that they will need it. Signs would be no effort to put feet down when held vertically, no effort to support weight with legs, not putting legs down when laying down, poor muscle tone in the legs, etc. Anna has no problem with any of this and has great muscle tone (so the Dr. said).
Dr. was also impressed that Anna is already taking foods pretty well. She said preemies usually take longer to get the hang of eating other than formula/milk from the bottle.
So all was great news! PRAISE GOD!
Anna had just been upset (just a good case of fussy) and Phoebe decided she could take calm her - it worked!
You guys must be doing a good job. She looks great. Wonderful pictures. My 9 month grandson is about the size of a one year old right now and just starting to walk. You better get all the rest you can because you are going to need it. Raising future freepers is a lot of work. Enjoyed the update. Thanks.
Next round of baby shots are tomorrow (Monday) so we should get an update on her weight. I can say with confidence that she is REALLY growing.
What's interesting - she doesn't seem to care two beans about trying to crawl - although she will roll herself all over the place. Instead, she likes to stand up. She is now standing upright with little leaning or support (and sometimes for brief periods no leaning!).
She also likes to sleep in her Mommy's lap:
You are kidding. Is that the same tiny tiny little baby you stared out with.I have been wondering how she is doing. She is beautiful and amazing. Thanks for the update.
Congratulations on your new arrival !
YEP! Same tiny baby - but she's not tiny any more!
I will post back this evening when I know what she weighs now.
Update from today's Dr. Appt.
Weight: 16 lbs. 6 oz.
Length: 25 3/4 inches
Her shots didn't seem to bother her as bad this time either - so maybe sleep tonight???
How wonderful, God bless you all.
Would you kiss the baby in the crook of the neck for me, thank you, that is my favorite baby kissing spot.
Great Pictures!

You would never know she was a preemie. Thats great. Guess all the prayers paid off. That and good care from mom and dad. She is a beauty. She will be walking before you know it.
