Sound Problems on The Michael Savage Show
WRKO AM680 Boston Radio "The talk Station¨
Posted on 03/29/2004 4:51:05 PM PST by jonatron
Michael Savage is talking about Richard Clarke's refusal to testify in 1999. The audio had been fading in and out. Savage, probably facetiously, said he thought it was the liberals messing with the transmission. Is anyone else hearing the same problem??

perhaps the sound will cease working altogether, and mr. savage will have to postpone his screeching till another day.
wishful thinking on my part.

They just started the 2nd hour with the 'best of' voiceover. Maybe they are having problems.

Try it now, I think I fixed it. I turned my radio upside down.

The midget talk is a rerun, eh?
Maybe it's just a coincidence...
maybe we really are in the midst of a war to save America from Communism.

Maybe I heard him wrong. On occasion they will slip into a 'best of' for a few minutes if Doc needs to get his composure or something.
I think SN does that more often than the average radio show. We will know when its 'live' again today since he will almost certainly talk about Clarke, who he hasn't mentioned this whole hour.
That midget talk is awesome, by the way. Doc Savage is the best because by far he is the best personality on talk radio. Within a wide latitude, his callers can talk about the oddest topics and then somehow Doc will dovetail it into the issue of the day. I also love it when Doc goes down memory lane and talks about growing up in ny, etc.
The Savage Nation is a very provocative and entertaining show!

I am listening, streaming online, and Savage got into this thing about a movie, "The Lovers" I think he called it.
Then it just cut off, went to something else, and a caller said something about "The Lover" stuff, and Savage said, "I don't know what you're talking about."
Anyone hear that? It will be repeated on local broadcast radio, perhaps in your locale too.

Savage was going on and on about this movie, "The Lovers", and read passages from the book. Then there was a sudden jump with no continuity, and he was on something else, and a caller called and brought up "The Lovers" and Mike said he didn't know what he was talking about...

I can't find any movie on IMDB that fits the description of the movie Savage was talking about.

That's it. I thought Savage said "lovers" PLURAL.
Wonder when he went on about it and then suddenly shifted gears and then denied talking about it...weird.

Agree with your comments. At first I thought Savage was a baboon, but then I adjusted my expectations (which is not to say that I *lowered* my expectations). Savage has no eye for the Washington "game". I don't trust his sense of strategy at all, nor do I trust his predictive abilities (this is where Rush shines). But his best shows are these amazing narratives that wind around into all sorts of interesting places. It's hard to put your finger on, but he has a knack for linking unexpected concepts together, and he does it at the drop of a hat, in "real time". Every now and then, I say "wow, that was fairly brilliant. How'd he do that?". On the other hand, his bad shows can be a mess -- but even then you'll get one or two of his signature rants.
I have noticed that he has more little discontinuities in his show than other hosts. I think he blows a gasket every now and then, prompting either he or his producer to kick in the time delay and snip out the offending portion of audio.
To: jonatron
IMHO, he's sometimes interesting but too often angry. Also, I don't give a rip about what happened in the 50s. That is ancient history.
