"Anger should be focused on the League of Conservation Voters, and the Senator they have endorsed for President. Anger should be focused on the Sierra club, the National Wildlife Federation, Greenpeace, Defenders of Wildlife and the horde of environmental organizations that go ballistic whenever anyone proposes to drill a new oil well or build a new refinery."
Can I get an Amen?

Nice Post. ...this 'bout sums it up!
All part of the 'Rat's obstructionist game-plan.
Obstruct, then blame.

Yep. That's the real agenda of Iraq. Control of all the oil. Yeah, man. The next thing you know we'll be sticking a permanent duty station there to make sure they put out our oil to enhance President Bush and Vice President Cheney's portfolios. :) HA!
A lot of sarcasm for your Monday evening.

A nation that bans the drilling for oil off of three coastlines, and the most promising area in Alaska that nobody will ever see in their lifetime, needs to shut up about oil prices or rethink its policies.

Amoco
Texaco
Phillips
Mobile
...to just name a few of the big boys no longer around.
That's just the oil companies(Operators), the list of drilling companies(Contractors) is even longer.

The oil in Alaska National Wildlife Refuge would last for less than six months, according to every environmental biologist that has ever published an article on the issue.
Oh, I forgot . . . most people on this site never graduated from college, and wouldn't know a fact if it hit them in the face.
Thanks for the comedy, free republic! Go Nader!
To: RockDenali555
Another good example of twisting facts. I believe what those reports show is that ANWR would be able to supply all of America's oil requirements for 6 months. Do you think we're going to shut down the North Slope, or any of the thousands of wells in the continental US just because ANWR comes online? That oil will reduce our dependance on foreign oil for many years to come.
And yes, Run Ralph, Run.
To: TPluth
That six month "statistic" is incredibly misleading. First of all, it hypothetically combines all future ANWR production into a lump sum, as if it all could be produced in that time frame. That's fundamentally false.
Second, it assumes that anyone really knows what the reserves in ANWR are. There is very limited seismic coverage, using technology that is completely archaic today. I think there is one well drilled by Chevron, the information on which is still being held tight.
For anyone to make estimates of what ANWR holds for America based on that limited information, and worse to make heated arguments about it, is fundamentally stupid and disingenuous.
