Another good example of twisting facts. I believe what those reports show is that ANWR would be able to supply all of America's oil requirements for 6 months. Do you think we're going to shut down the North Slope, or any of the thousands of wells in the continental US just because ANWR comes online? That oil will reduce our dependance on foreign oil for many years to come.

That six month "statistic" is incredibly misleading. First of all, it hypothetically combines all future ANWR production into a lump sum, as if it all could be produced in that time frame. That's fundamentally false.

Second, it assumes that anyone really knows what the reserves in ANWR are. There is very limited seismic coverage, using technology that is completely archaic today. I think there is one well drilled by Chevron, the information on which is still being held tight.

For anyone to make estimates of what ANWR holds for America based on that limited information, and worse to make heated arguments about it, is fundamentally stupid and disingenuous.
