As is usually the case, the republicans have "lost" this issue in that they never found it. Kerry started and maintained his political career as a wrong headed leftist. Instead of using that important fact to disqualify him, the republicans are letting him wear it as a "badge of courage." Because they lack the conviction and persuasiveness needed to discuss this with the American people, I and my family have to be at risk of a left wing idiot compromising our security. But don't worry, while the dems beat GWB's head in every day, the republicans will remain "above the fray."

It could be that they are waiting for the right time to stick a stake in his heart. Maybe they would rather have it as an October surprise. Maybe they have already lined up relatives of the senators to talk about it.
