The liberals may win in the courts but they will lose at the ballot box.

May God bless President George W. Bush and give him victory over all his enemies and the enemies of the United States of America.

Evidently they are getting worried. This week Atlanta's "alternative paper,"
Creative Loafing, ran a long, long cover story called
"America the Theocracy", an obvious effort to scare the tattoed set into registering and voting for the Abortion Party this fall.

Exit polls showed that among white religious right voters, Bush got 80% of the votes vs. just 18% for Vice President Al GoreI hope this has a clarifying effect-18% is too high! Those people are throwing their votes away on a platform directly opposed to what they claim to believe.

Rove said the campaign's message of inclusion might have turned off Christian conservatives, whom he described as "xenophobic." Well, that's a smart thing for a strategist to say publicly. [/sarcasm]

It's also dramatized the cultural conflict between Christian conservatives and secular liberals. This is only partly correct. It's certainly a cultural conflict, but it's also a religious war, since liberalism has basically become a religion to its adherents. Take a look at The Church of the Left by Stanley Kurtz from three years ago and see if it doesn't describe modern liberalism exactly.
