John Kerry mentions his service in Vietnam so frequently that it has become a running joke on the campaign press plane. He seldom if ever mentions his postwar activities as a national coordinator and principal spokesman for Vietnam Veterans Against the War, a group he says he quit in 1971 because he was concerned about its radical agenda. One reason may be that a credibility gap has started to widen over his antiwar history, and he clearly doesn't want to discuss it at length. His campaign is issuing misleading and evasive statements on his antiwar service in a way that would do the Pentagon spinners of the Johnson and Nixon administrations proud.

Kerry was a willing instrument in trying to make this Nixons war rather than the Kennedy-Johnson debacle that it was.
I wonder what would happen if bush pardoned Kerry for his
war crimes and for conspiracy to murder congressmen.Whoa ! Now there's a thought ! I can only imagine that Bush would
catch he** over it. More than clintoon in his pardon of Marc Rich.Or maybe not ...
In that speech, Kerry criticized Nixon for seeking an early return of POWs. That's struck me as odd for some time now.
Kerry pointed to the audience and said there was someone who came with him *from Florida* who would step forward and sign a deposition. This was not followed through on and no name was mentioned, but I immediately suspected that it was Scott Camil in the audience.
Wow! Good catch.
I nominate this for wintersoldier.com's "Key Points":
Two months after Kansas City he represented VVAW at a speech at Dartmouth College. In that speech, Kerry criticized Nixon for seeking an early return of POWs. That's struck me as odd for some time now.

o Kerry's used "testimony" from the VVAW's "Winter Soldier Investigation" as the basis for his war crimes charges, although none of the witnesses there were willing to sign depositions affirming their claims. Later investigators were unable to confirm any of the reported atrocities, and in fact discovered that a number of the witnesses had never been in Vietnam, had never been in combat, or were imposters who had assumed the identity of real veterans.
Vietnam Veterans Against Kerry
Useful Fools :
Watching Those Whom Lenin Called "Useful Fools"
A Vietnam Veteran's organization has sprung up to oppose John Kerry, because Kerry used his Vietnam credentials to the benefit of the enemy in that war, which is hard to reconcile with his constant bragging about his service today. If you don't think Kerry helped the communists, go to the site of the VVAK, and also read the history of the conflict (on this blog), and read on here. Kerry helped our enemy, it's that simple! His actions are those of one who cared for his comrades but not for his nation
I disagree with you on this, as before. On this part:
Later investigators were unable to confirm any of the reported atrocities, and in fact discovered that a number of the witnesses had never been in Vietnam, had never been in combat, or were imposters who had assumed the identity of real veterans.
I assume you've again relied solely on the Lewy account of the missing NIS report, which sounds weak to me.
I think it stands better as a specific independent event - cyncooper's wording.
Recently CSPAN played a June 1971 Dick Cavett show that featured a debate between John Kerry and John O'Neill.
O'Neill pointed out to Kerry that none of the "soldiers" who "testified" at the Winter Soldier hearing about committing atrocities would sign depositions affirming what they said.
Assuming that you get a transcript of the Cavett Show debate.
This underlines your strategy of demanding more verification - incredible claims require incredible proof, especially with so many proven frauds, ala Sheehan and Burkett.
The Cavett item doesn't depend on a report no one can find. And it leads right to the same point O'Neill made then. None of these guys would sign depositions affirming the truth of what they said.
Even better, it leads to a call for the WSI witnesses to release their full military records, and have someone like Burkett look them over.
The President will owe you a spot in his second administration Doug. With what you did bitch slapping Tom D and now breaking this information to the WSJ, you have to be one of GWB's MVPs.
