Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry (news - web sites) will have minor outpatient surgery on his right shoulder next week that may keep him off the campaign trail for up to four days.
Spokesman David Wade said the Massachusetts senator aggravated an old injury to a tendon from the sub-scapularis muscle -- which helps move the shoulder -- earlier this year when he braced himself against an abrupt stop on a bus tour in Iowa during the race for the Democratic nomination.
"He will have outpatient surgery on his shoulder on Wednesday at Massachusetts General Hospital," Wade said. "It's a quick procedure that usually lasts less than an hour."
The injury did not bother Kerry during a recent weeklong skiing and snowboarding vacation in Idaho nor does it prevent him from occasionally tossing a football and baseball with reporters and staff.
Wade said Kerry, 60, was not in pain, except when he made a certain movement such as "picking up a baby on the rope line."
However, he wanted to repair the tear to prevent further injury and "decided it would be better just to get it fixed now," Wade added.
Kerry was expected to wear a sling for a few days and spend time working at home in Boston before returning to the campaign trail.

No doubt the whole fiasco was planned. What they didn't plan on was the ability to release any records pertaining to Clarke's original assessment.
Hillary's got Clarke by the b**** if he's willing to perjure himself....just like she had Bubba by the b****. The Clinton's are blackmailers and more....Will this become a Foster moment??
Regardless, the major networks hit Bush every day and there are millions of ignorant viewers out there who believe everything they here.

(No offense meant to those who have received theirs in the line of duty,
in the above < humor > posting.)

He must have hurt himself doing all those flip-flops. I don't think so, I think it has been all the "shoulder shrugging" that ails him.

Kerry as bus stops abruptly: "Tiraysah, Tiraysah, (or Muffie or Lovey) I've believe I've hurt my shoulder, and my ascot is askew."

Wade said Kerry, 60, was not in pain, except when he made a certain movement such as "picking up a baby on the rope line." Did it hurt when he jabbed his finger to vote against the fetal crime victim bill, his only vote in ages? Or to vote to preserve the legality of partial birth abortion?

My guess is that the prostate problem has re-emerged and they're trying to hide it...... This was speculated about when this thread "Kerry arrives in Idaho for vacation" appeared on the 18th of this month.
Sorry I can't do a link, but you can do a search by title. At that time, it was announced that he would be having the surgery within the next couple of months. Something has pushed that ahead, rather suddenly, IMHO.

.......he braced himself against an abrupt stop on a bus tour in Iowa (while campaigning) .........certainly wasn't caused by his ski trip, because......he doesn't fall down..... Heheh. Musta been some fall he took----or was it six falls? The fact he didn't have the (ahem) Iowa injury taken care of on vacation is strange. Seems only logical he'd doctor an injury while on hiatus, to be fit for the campaign trail.
My theory is that Kerry is a very sick man. His pallor color looks unhealthy, his skin is sallow, and he's unusually gaunt looking. His eyes look very dark, and he seems like he's constantly wincing, as if he's in pain.....even before the so-called shoulder injury.
