WASHINGTON - For Democrats, there was only one problem with Thursday nights Democratic National Committee unity dinner in Washington: one of the invited speakers totally outshone presidential candidate John Kerry.
It came as no surprise that the star of the evening was former president Bill Clinton, who gave a virtuoso performance, reminding the crowd of why he is the only Democrat since Franklin Roosevelt to win two terms in the White House.
Vintage Clinton
Clintons speech was folksy, anecdotal, full of scornful gibes at the Republicans, and rhythmic with the cadences of a Southern preacher in other words, it was vintage Clinton. The speech was structured by the repetition of the phrase and John Kerry said, send me.

Clinton stepping on Kerry ! What a suprise!

I was watching Fox and Friends this morning and they had on their regular Georgia Whitman (the Psychologist) and she said that when Clinton was shaking hands with Kerry he would not look Kerry in the eye. He was looking beyond Kerry at Jimmy Carter. Apparently Clinton does not think that much of Kerry or hates any democrat that runs for president who isn't him. He also ignored Gore completely. He hates being out of the spotlight. Kerry better watch his back.

I saw on TV last night a clip of Gore shaking hands with Clinton on Softball with Chrissy Matthews. They showed it in slow motion a couple of times and Chrissy was actually mocking them both. The handshake lasted a micro second with zero eye contact. What a hoot!

Did anyone hear the comment someone on Fox said about this event? It was the Democratic Unity Dinner, i.e. DUD. How appropriate for them.

They love power. They know how to get it and they know how to keep it, Clinton said, adding at another point, Theyve always got white shirts and ties. Theyre the mature party, theyre the Daddy party. They remind me of teenagers that got their inheritance too soon and couldnt wait to blow it.It sounds like he's describing the 'rat party. Well, except for the "mature" part, but that's what they think of themselves.

Reminds me of Dick Morris' comment on H&C, that Kerry had better keep Hillary close or he will be picking knives out of his back all the way to November. Colmes acted incredulous at this. (Poor guy)
Does he really think Morris doesn't have Hillary's number? For all Morris has done wrong, and been wrong in, he's a shrewd operator. And you can tell he well understands who and what the Clintons are.

Note that there is a poll there. Please vote

Sorry, but I saw a bitter Clinton with the shakes that the camera did it's best to hide.
His speech on behalf of Kerry was boring and made no sense at all.
Perhaps in comparison to Kerry, Clinton shone...but that is hardly the point.

Kind of like Kerry when he hugs and kisses Teresa at one of their primary victory celebrations. There isn't a lot of warmth generated there either.

Oh, how funny. "They remind me of teenagers that got their inheritance too soon and couldnt wait to blow it.
Who and what are all these college kids demonstrating for rat causes at the universities are? I would love to see some statistics as to how many are doing it on daddie's dime.
My teenage son is a solid Republican and has been working since he was 14, and now, at 19, is licensed in his chosen field. He has nothing but scorn for all these selfish college Democrat kids.

The NY Daily News reported:
For $1,000 a plate, donors ate barbecue family-style and gawked at Carter, Clinton and Gore. Hardly the best of friends, the three have not been together since the 9/11 memorial in 2001.
So last night was what passes for unity among Dems, anyway. Who doesn't believe that anyone of them would happily stab another in the back, if he thought it would benefit him (especially Clinton)?

Clinton had the shakes ? Must be the last stages of his VD...

Sorry, but I saw a bitter Clinton with the shakes that the camera did it's best to hide. The photo that's been posted of Bill 'n' Hill at the event is downright scary. His nose is a putrid shade of purple, the eyes seem bloodshot and unfocused, and he seems to have mistaken Hillary for his girlfriend, Belinda Stronach ... that's a shame.
He's not well, bless his heart.
