I hope to keep it open for a while and sharpen it up. I'd like to have more relevant quotes from the book and from recent statements that tie directly to his previous statements.

He's also a misogynist -- isn't that also Un-PC and verboten? Just waiting for the media to figure this out and then run with it.

Yeah, right!

Commissioner Lehman said in the 9/11 Hearing that Clarke had worked with the commission privately and testified off the record for 15 or 16 hours and that his public testimony was in direct contrast to his private testimony!

He PLANNED this a year ago. He knew he was going to have his moment of fame. He testified privately saying one thing and testified publicly saying the polar opposite.

That is deliberate! Think about the planning involved in this...to work with the 9/11 Commission for a year telling them one thing privately...then come out with a book and testify to something else publicly. Amazing. And perjury, I would imagine.

Absolutely- this is a coldly-calculated deceit.

The other side brazenly lies, shifts positions, and when caught lies some more and flings accusations. Frankly, there is no debating these people- they are beyond that. All we can do is expose them and hope enough of the voters realize they are being played for fools.

Respectfully, it's not good enough to hope that voters recognize they are being played for fools.

We have the power to organize and research on the internet and frankly, we aren't using it effectively. We're just preaching to the choir here. We do all this great research and where does it go? To the archive thread on FR?

I'm beyond frustrated today to think that Clarke has done this and so few people will know. In the interim, it's undermining the president's candidacy.

You'll get no disagreement from me- we all need to become more radical and aggressive disseminating the information we have at our fingertips.

Not so, adam_az's research into Clarkes donations to only dem candidates is making its way into the main stream press.

If you want to help, the best way is to establish an email relationship with a rear line worker(producer etc) for various talk hosts and/or relationships with reporters. It can be done.

Also, on a thread I cannot find, it was noted that Clarke's business partner (Casey?) has joined MSNBC to work as a consultant.

Also, as I'm sure you've all seen, Clarke has only ever donated to Democrats.

This is the most coordinated attack on the presidency I've seen since Watergate.

The DNC has been busy and we don't know what they have planned for an October surprise.

The press is doing everything it can to affect public opinion of the politically uninformed (which is about 85% of the voting public).

WE HAVE A PROBLEM.

The Dems have arranged book publication as part of the campaign. Clarke was a nobody. No one had heard of him. The Dems orchestrated the invitation from the commission -- probably through a Dem member of the commission -- and also orchestrated the coordination with the publication schedule.

We must not let this happen again. Book Publication lets them define the news cycle. Authors are invited to come on TV and talk about their accusations and then suddenly it becomes news to say "The White House once again came under fire from a new book and its author who says . . . .

It's an excellent Dem tactic and it needs a counter.

Rove needs to be inside the various publishers to see what is coming next. And where are our own books in transit?

Clarke is not worth the effort to spit on.

Oh I don't know about that. If I had to spit anyways, and I didn't have to cross the street or walk more than 6 steps I would.
