You're not gonna tell me that they slaughter children out of compassionate concern for women, are you?

If so, I see a problem with their "compassion".

"He hates unborn babies"

Perhaps, but more to the point, he'd rape his mother if he thought it would get him a couple more votes.

No.

They are on a cultural jihad to make good evil, and evil, good.

A lot of them would do it for free.

"Choice" is the key word here. Most supposedly "pro-choice" liberals want to deny you the right to choice through school vouchers, the use of your own land, the discipline of your children, the medication of your child (ADD/ritalin), gun ownership, etc. ad nauseum.

They're not pro-choice at all. They're pro-abortion, but don't have the honesty to say so.

I don't think so. You eat an elephant one bite at a time.

Social conservatives have been losers for a long time because they want it all at once. It is a principled stand, but not a winning strategy. It is natural to take a principled stand against a half measure. Unfortunately, that means we don't even take half-steps forward ... usually.

The libs have been mighty successful because they have no principles to get in their way. They are simply trying to eliminate morality and principle, and any step toward Gomorrah, no matter how small, is a step in the right direction in their minds.

This is no disaster. The unborn just got their first protection under the law. The double standard you speak of may lead to the eventual undoing of the preposterous and unconstitutional Roe vs. Wade.

Think about this: Conservatives, who want the whole enchilada at once, think this is a disaster. But liberals, who have gotten us where we are in tiny increments, think it is a disaster, too.

They're scared to death that we've learned to fight.

Thanks for the ping, and for this eloquent and insightful summation of what yesterday’s vote actually demonstrated. Too many times, altruistic-sounding titles make sham amendments appear noble. Durbin’s and Feinstein’s amendments were sterling examples of such ignoble subterfuges.

That self-professed moderate Arlen Specter was among the handful of hypocrites that supported both sickening amendments (each of which would have made altogether meaningless the bill to which they were attached) should serve as a wake up call for all Pennsylvania Republicans.

And the fact that Rick Santorum, who is possibly the most pro-life Senator on the Hill, would endorse Specter, and appear in several of his campaign commercials, is beyond comprehension to this particular conservative Pennsylvanian.

If convenient cross-over union democrats who are last-minute registering as Republicans for the Pennsylvania primary don’t succeed in wresting this election from Pat Toomey, Specter, for the remainder of this year, may be registering his last few hypocritical votes. The man who will fill his seat cherishes the lives of the unborn, and reviles hypocrisy.

Here are the House members who voted for the sham substitute bill sponsored by the pro-abortion Zoe Lofgren that (like the sham substitute sponsored by Feinstein in the Senate) would have completely gutted the intent of the bill and, instead of treating the unborn baby who was murdered as a victim, it merely increases the penalty if someone attacks a pregnant woman (so if the baby dies but the woman survives, the murderer can't be charged with murder). I have included a notation beside the name of each RINO (looking for the GOP label is not enough) and also besides each of the hypocrites who then turned around and voted (less than 20 minutes later!) for final passage of Laci and Conner's Law.
