Brit Hume commented last evening that Kerry had been faxing excerpts from Clarke's book to all the media outlets.

He wondered why Kerry jumped on the bandwagon so quicly and without forethought

I wonder if this is an attempt by the media to get this story behind them before Kerry reappears on the campaign trail and has to answer questions.

It ought to be interesting to see if Scarborough talks about this tonight. Heck I might even tune in sneering Aaron Brown to see what he says.

Hmm. Interesting observation, I didn't hear Brit make that remark about Kerry (I assume you mean John Kerry not Bob Kerrey)

Re my #77, I was being sarcastic.

I know,
as was I in whatever post number
about watching the grass grow
and the paint dry.

I "know" better than most here,
exactly how and why you have
scant faith in our media.
And of course,
you are right.

Tonight's CNN Headline News (which is in all airports), had this exchange with some political "analysist".

Anchor: I have been talking to my neighbors this week, they think Bush has lost all credibility, and now Clarke says Iraq has made us much less safe.

Analysist: Yes, when he said that at the hearing, you could hear a pin drop. I mean, now this country is in more danger from Terrorists, and other countries like Madrid, and even the Hamas leader was killed this week.

Amazing, simply amazing, how low the media will go.
