CHICAGO (AP) -- Iraqi doctors were forced to cut off ears, falsify reports on torture and participate in other human rights abuses during Saddam Hussein's regime, a survey of physicians there found.

Fewer than 10 percent of the 98 doctors surveyed said they had performed such abuses, but their responses indicated they believed human rights abuses by other physicians were not uncommon.

And yet the liberals still think we should have stayed out of Iraq. How can this be?

At least those methods produced law and order over there.

But no sweat off my back what people do to each other in other countries, so long as they leave me and mine alone.

World War II was almost lost because of that point of view.

World War II was almost lost because of that point of view.

And what if it had been lost?

Would it then have affected me and mine?

If so, then getting involved would have been the thing to do.

If not, then not.

And you know, if we hadn't gotten involved in WWI to begin with, there might have been no Weirmar Republic, no Hitler, no concentration camps, and no WWII.

Some of us feel compelled to protect those who can't protect themselves. Even though I'm armed, I guess if I see your family being held at gunpoint while your wife is being raped, I'll just walk on by...Hey, it's not personal, it just doesn't effect "me or my own"

Yet far more hatred is directed at President Bush than was ever directed against Saddam Hussein.

Hitler inspired similar hatred against the Jews as the global Socialists are now inspiring against President Bush and pro-Christian, pro-Jew Americans.

Yes

Too late. Game over.

If you want to save the world, nobody's stopping you: Leave the country and risk your life and fortune righting wrongs, like Superman or Batman.

Just don't expect me to help in anyway if it is not in America's national self-interest.

At least those methods produced law and order over there.

If it became necessary, would you support such measures here?

But no sweat off my back what people do to each other in other countries, so long as they leave me and mine alone.

I believe it is in our national interest to engage gross inhumanity in world. If not, by the time we are directly effected, it may be too late. I am arguing this from a position of self preservation although I believe a moral argument, which I do not make here, could be made as well.

Don't tell me people govern harshly in other countries.

Show me it's bad for our national self-interest that people in other countries govern harshly.

That has got to be the most selfish, narrow minded thing that I have heard lately. I guess freedom is only good for those who already have it.

If a case can be made, then fine.

Unless you're posting from North Korea, your bravado is a little lame.

Well, our government paid $10,000 to physicians serving native american indigenous peoples for every sterilization.

No matter what the ailment, a surgery was in order. When the female woke up, she was sterile, her apendectomy cured her, and the doctor got a cool ten grand on top of the needed services. That is one reason native americans used to die in their homes rather than go get tonsils removed or have eustacian tubes placed in their children's ears.

Glass house stone throwing alert. Sure, it wasn't ear slicing or torture, but it's in the same chapter.

I take it your not an Iraqi, but your welcome for my service to protect your right to speak freely. But remember the right to be heard does not give you the right to be taken seriously.

eustacian tubes placed in their children's ears.

The eustachian tube connects the back of the nose to the middle ear. I think you mean a myringotomy tube, which is a tube placed in the eardrum to allow drainage from behind the eardrum into the ear canal.

Thanks for the correct procedure. Regardless, if you were a native american you awoke to drained ears and broken pipe connections elsewhere.
