He's darned if he does, darned if he doesn't.I think you're right on the mark! When one considers the emormity of the tasks during transition, the unfinished business of the dysfunctional Clinton Administration, the stalling tactics of critical Bush appointees by the Senate, and the degraded state of the inteligence community that Bush inherited and the declining economy, President Bush's accomplishments are remarkable.
He's my kind of cowboy!

The Bush White House, of late, is behaving like the Clinton War Room. You couldn't possibly believe that. I think you're just saying it to try to push people's buttons. Is that fun for you or something?

and I mean you personally, wreck the credibility you have earned with the regular posters around here when you cease digging.Gee, and for the first time I agreed with William.

Actually, a more full quote illustrates Bush's approach better:
"Quit swatting at flies and just solve the problem."

Kristinn, co-leader of DC Chapter, went to the site of hearings and asked me to post this for him:On my lunch hour, I made some copies of the transcript of Clarke's August 2002 background briefing that was released by Fox News today and brought them over to the Hart Senate Office Building where the 9/11 Commission hearings are taking place.
The hearing was in lunch recess so I worked the room trying to get the transcript into the hands of as many reporters as I saw. They were very receptive when I described what it was I had. Only one reporter dismissed it as Clarke 'giving the administration line.' The rest were very interested in it.
I ran into a Fox News producer outside the room. She told me she had a copy and asked who I was with. I told her Free Republic.
I had to leave after that. I went over there figuring the lazy press wouldn't have it yet. That turned out to be true. Wish I could have stayed but I don't get paid to be a FReeper. EAGLES UP !!!

If only Clarke Kent would have been given the proper respect, access and intelligence, he could have single handedly saved us from 9/11. What a sniveling, egocentric POS.

Actually, I was hoping he would have looked worse by now. One of the commissioners earlier mentioned that he has a 'silver tongue', and it seems to be true.

9/11 Commission Hearing =
CLARK's answer to Fox News August 2002 Story vs. the CLARK Book
-BUSH decided to follow through with CLINTON Policies against Al Qaeda in January 1991
-BUSH decided to increase by 5 times the funding for its battle against Al Qaeda
-BUSH changed policy towards Pakistan
-BUSH changed policy towards the Northern Alliance
-BUSH did decide to elimnate Al Qaeda
-BUSH was briefed throughout the Procss of policy meetings on how to handle Al Qaeda
Questioner states that there was a lot that bothers him about what CLARK has written in a new book vs. what CLARK told the Press back in August 2002 about BUSH's Policy making on Al Qaeda.

You wasted your time, and mine, with those links. Are you arguing with somebody on another thread about Iraq? That's right, Bush, Powell, and Rumsfeld said their wasn't an Iraq-9-11 link in 2001, again in 2002, some more in 2003, and then again in 2004. WTF is your is point? The only people who claim they did say there was a link are same people accusing them of calling Iraq an imminent threat. In other words, bald-faced liars. Are you with them?
Do you ever counter an argument directly or do you always try to divert it to something that has absolutely nothing with the matter contended?
How very CLINTONESQUE

Gore-lick to Clarke: "You had a great shot "after" the Mellenium to take a shot at AQ...why wasn't it done."
What...was his hands tied before that? Weren't the series of attacks on NY, Somalia, Khobar, Nyrobi and Tanzania, etc., enough of a prerequisite to act? This b*tch is a partisan hack.

Why the heck won't Condi appear before the panel?
because it would break precedent... I have a friend who worked in the U.S. Senate for many years and he explained it to me: Condi is part of Bush's STAFF. Direct insider. Rummy and Powell are not part of Bush's STAFF. They are in a different category. It's a world of difference which category these folks are in as to protocol and precendent concerning this. That's why she's not appearing.

I did not post to you, Leftie.
I posted to a person who made an allegation that relates to another thread.
I stand with the administration and work to foil the plots of the liars who spread disinformation regarding an fictitious connection between 9.11 and Saddam.
