Well, I have to disagree with you there Mo1.

I don't think Clinton was too fond of him when he said both "That Clinton would be opened up like a boiled peanut" for his sexual affairs, and that "Clinton was an unnaturally good liar".

Yes, he is a dem, but he and Clinton don't exchange fruitcakes at Christmas. That being said, I am not saying that we take what he says at face value entirely, I am just saying that we differentiate between him and Roehmer, Ben-Veniste, and Gorelick. I think he is in a different class.

I think back in the weeks and months following 9/11 when we were told the victims families weren't getting the money alloted them by the charitable organizations. I think the most vociferous ones are the very same ones who are sitting in the back of the room clapping and cheering at these hearings.

And in a "60 Minutes" interview set to air Sunday night, Clarke blasts Bush for doing "a terrible job on the war against terrorism."

But just a year ago Clarke was singing a different tune, telling reporter Richard Miniter, author of the book "Losing bin Laden," that it was the Clinton administration - not team Bush - that had dropped the ball on bin Laden.

Clarke, who was a primary source for Miniter's book, detailed a meeting of top Clinton officials in the wake of al Qaeda's attack on the USS Cole in Yemen.

He urged them to take immediate military action. But his advice found no takers.

Nor do I. I don't think the fact that Poppy recommended him means he doesn't have an agenda that is not in our best interests (i.e. an unusual affinity for the Saudis), but I do think it means he is more than an incompetent hack. Poppy knows the spook business, and I tend to doubt he would strongly commend an incompetent partisan Dem to W.

Again, my main problem with Poppy is his, as you put it, his unusual affinity for the Saudis -- and I think that sometimes overrides the GOP-'rat thing with him.

Ben veniste---what a schmuck. "Not on my nickel?" chuckles...These people are disgusting.

That said, Tenet talks the talk but there is no substance.

It seems the tone the Dems are trying to develop is:
Condi bad, inefficient, incompetent

The left has been trying to make a fight between the CIA and Condi since day one ... Kinds of reminds me of stories I've read of the Nixon Days

Started is the operative word. Tenet then moved to Leahy, Boren and the Clinton transition team. You don't become a member of the President's transition team unless you are perceived as a loyal party member.

That doesn't have anything to do with what Albright said.

Of course, who better to smear as incompetent as a Strong Black Woman.

They Fear Condi. And they are laying the gorundwork against her for 08, to help HRH Hillary!ous.

I like Tenet. Stands firm despite badgering. He's got my vote as long as he's got Bush's confidence. Disruption of a firing and a 2-year learning curve for the new guy would be destructive to our war efforts.

Nothing to worry about here.

Kerrey has to balance what happened yesterday. In a few hours, Mr. Clarke is going to be hit with a barrage like you've never seen.

Kerrey is just setting the table. Look how they are breaking down Clarke's book.

The only victim I feel for in such sympathy and respect is the wife of Todd Beamer, who hasn't been seen or heard from since she formed the Todd Beamer Foundation.

Bent-Peniste conveniently skips over eight years of Clinton. It was all Reagan and GWB_I's fault for abandoning Afghanistan.

Democrats are in full attack mode. The phoney Kerrey is defending Clinton's pinprick.

Kerrey is all about words. BFD. Words are crap when they're not backed up with action. Kerrey talks tough but does nothing about it. He's a hack.
