Where do we get these fools that sit on this commission???
To: Just mythoughts
At least this guy, while egomaniacal is fairly intelligent.
With Sandy Berger as NSA, it is a miracle we are not all facing east and praying to Mecca 5 times a day.

"now he is telling why he couldnt save the twin towers himself...he was limited in power.."
Would be interesting to know who it was that coached him for this testimony, cause he sure know how to use the correct "tone" to imply what he fails to say verbally.
A very coached witness. Maybe Ben V has had a few rounds with him.
To: Howlin
He was reading one from Chris Shays who sits on the House Committee dealing with national security, etc. He - Shays - was just chastising him. And IIRC, he also wrote one to Condi Rice complaining about Clarke's ineptitude.
This committee should have those memos.
Personally, the whole thing is a sham and it disgusts me to know end.

This guy gave the Bush Admin. until May before he got impatient with the Administration (after what, 3 months?) and then asks to be reassigned... after 8 years in the Clinton Admin. doing nothing! And someone reminded us yesterday that during that time period the Bush administration also had to deal with our plane down in China. That has not been mentioned at all.
Has there ever been an administration that has had to deal with so many real crises yet had so much resistance from the other party? Never.

The most important bungle of the Clinton administration (which Clarke was complicit in) is the refusal of the Sudan offer to hand over Osama. Osama in Afghanistan was virtually unreachable. Clinton allowed him to go there. That is the single most important thing. In addition, the Gore Commission on aviation in 96 (after the planes as missiles possibility was already known) was a total quid pro quo for campaign cash--they didn't force the airlines to adopt any new security measures (i.e. cockpit doors) in exchange for money for re-election. None of the Rinos on this heinous kangaroo court committee have (or will) mentioned any of this. What a bleeping joke!
America deserves btter than this.

You're right. Roemer said he's only interested in the time between '98 and Sept. 11, 2001. This tape is from after that date.
Man those Dems sure are flexible when it comes to covering their a$$es, aren't they????

...perjury is if both conflicting statements were said under oath... So I can lie as often as I want as long as I'm only under oath once?
Doesn't sound right to me...

I guess that rules out asking him about the willingness of Sudan to give up bin Laden and why the administration turned it down.
