How to be an activist 101-Contact the "News" media

I keep seeing a lot of posts from Freepers saying "OH this is great info but is anyone but Freepers seeing it" Here is a contact list of "Journalists". If you feel strongly that something is not being covered, CONTACT the journalist and demand to know why they are not covering it. The Hysterical Left are grand masters of this sort of media manipulation. The reason their minoirty political viewpoints get over covered is they are so busy bombarding the "journalists" with press releases and emails that the "journalists" think THAT is what the average people are intrested in. If you want to fight back, take information you have found on Free Republic. (It is a good idea to past the link to the original source in your Email so the "journalist" can read it themselves). Go to Major Media Newssites. Find Contact Us or Feedback line(usually at bottom of the web page) click on it to find Email addresses. Then email them asking why the facts you feel are important have not been covered. If enough of us bombard them with the facts they will have to notice.

Here are some links.

I agree we should keep on letting the media know what we think about their biased coverage. I don't agree that it does much good as they have an agenda, and don't care what those of us on the right think. But I do it anyway, and will continue to and encourage others to do the same! (Jaded, aren't I? :-) )

There is something delightfuly naughty about using wacko leftwing websites to the News Media about the extreme left wing bais in their "reporting"

A couple thoughts about contacting the media with concerns about biased coverage.

1. Be polite. Coming across as an unpleasant and unbalanced person gets your letter dumped immediately.

2. Be specific. Find specific instances of bias in the article. Pro-Life is a perfect example. Describing a Pro-Life leader as an anti-abortion leader and and the planned parenthood spokesman as pro-choice. Make the argument that calling someone who describes themselves as Pro-Life anti-abortion is like calling someone who calls themselves African-American a negro.

3. Keep on subject. Don't ramble on about other topics. If the article is about abortion, don't start complaining about another reporter's article on gay marriage.

4. Contact the right person. Write to the author of the article if you want to comment on that specific story, the managing editor or the editor in chief if you want to comment on general bias in that publication. Find out the name of the person and address the letter to them directly.

5. Do not be hostile. You may alienate someone who is sympathetic to your position. There are conservatives in journalism despite all indications to the contrary. I can assure you that there are people out there who I agree with on political issues, but who are just unpleasant to deal with because of their attitudes.
