Israeli Tanks Roll Into Palestinian Refugee Camp
Reuters ^ | 3-23-04

GAZA (Reuters) - Israeli tanks rolled into the Palestinian refugee camp of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip early on Wednesday and bulldozers began demolishing houses overlooking a Jewish settlement, witnesses said.

Some 60 families living in the row of dilapidated structures fled as Israeli forces laid down covering fire. There were no immediate reports of return fire from Palestinian gunmen, or casualties.

Security forces have been on high alert in Israel's cities for the painful payback Hamas has promised in retaliations for the Israeli assassination of its founder and spiritual leader Ahmed Yassin.

About 10 Israeli tanks moved to the edge of Khan Younis in the early hours of Wednesday, taking up what witnesses initially described as holding positions.

"They would rather attack women and children."

Kind of like what Israel is doing now by indiscriminately mowing down houses?
And no, I do not back a Palastinian state. Those people need to go home to Jordan or whereever the heck they came from.

If you are going to make that allegation you are going to have to back it up with some facts, or your time here will be short.

"Security forces have been on high alert in Israel's cities for the painful payback Hamas has promised in retaliations for the Israeli assassination of its founder and spiritual leader Ahmed Yassin."

More proper: Security forces have been on high alert in Israel's cities since it's most recent successful campaign in it's war against terrorism. IDF forces were able to track and locate a group of terrorists who were plotting to murder innocent and unarmed people of Israel. In the attack, Ahmed Yassin, the founder of Hamas, one the world's leading terror groups was killed.

Yassin planned the attack on the cruise ship Achilles Laurel
where a disabled 69 year old Leon Klinghoffer, an American, was thrown overboard along with his wheelchair by the terrorists Yassin had sent.

Yassin was a leader in the war against Jews. Terrorists worldwide mourn his death and have promised to murder even more unarmed and innocent people as they go to work, to school, to the movies, family events, family outings, and wherever there might be a number of unarmed men women and children.

3 days of mourning and then we find out if Hamas is completely impotent.

Now taking bets...

"If you are going to make that allegation you are going to have to back it up with some facts,"

This is not an allegation, it IS a fact. They are mowing down houses indiscriminately, at least according to the information THEY are releasing. There is no mention of rockets, etc coming from these houses, there is no mention of "so and so terrorists who we have proof shot us in the past" living in these houses.
Until the Israelis state the above facts they are doing nothing different than the palestinians do with the dynamite around their waists--preying on innocent civilians.
Now, if they target Arafat and instead hit the house next door where only children are home, that is acceptable because it is an accident.
Mowing down houses without proof they are inhabited by terrorists is wrong.

You assume that (Al)Reuters is giving the full story. Big mistake. They refuse to call Al Qaueda terrorists.

In the vain hope that -- eventually -- they may be able to "trade up" to Peter Jennings. :)

Well then you have fallen into a trap my friend. They are not being indiscriminate at all. They are only taking out the buildings that are constantly used to shoot into Israeli towns. These houses are mostly empty as they are so shot up from the return fire who would live in them anyway?! Would you live in a house that the terrorists drop by every couple of days to have a gun fight with your neighbor? Kinda hard on the kids...

The Islamics depend on you seeing the situation from your viewpoint, not from how it is in the Middle East. They use propaganda as an art form, as it was taught them by the Nazi's their mentors and allies from the last war. The Nazi's were defeated, but the Arabs never were.

These "houses" are built with three stories, next to Israeli towns on land that Israel has the legal right to and they do not purchase the land to build on it. They are built for one purpose to squat on land to claim it for their own.

By international law, it is the Arabs that are the settlers in Israel. Don't be sucked in by the retoric.

Sorry, they already got booted out of there once. And Lebanon. And Syria too, I think. Arafat the Egyptian Dentist's "Palestinian people" don't know how to behave, no matter where they go.

Obviously you can't read. First paragragh:

Israeli tanks rolled into the Palestinian refugee camp of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip early on Wednesday and bulldozers began demolishing houses overlooking a Jewish settlement, witnesses said.

Some 60 families living in the row of dilapidated structures fled

Now, you show me WHERE in this article that these house are inhabited by people shooting/sending rockets at Israelis.

I'm not sucked in by anything. Killing innocents is wrong. Period.
